I was hoping and praying Beltre would make it back to me, but I had a sneaking suspicion he wouldn't get past Bogart. I thought he was amazing value right now. Not a whole lot of difference from guys taken in the first round.

Moving to CF could be big for Marte in this format. His range rating hasn't been good in the past.

That's a flaw in WIS' simplistic fielding ratings.  Marte's RF/G has been excellent for a LF which is evidenced by his Gold Gloves.  But WIS combines all OFs which penalizes corner OFs.  His advanced fielding metrics are very good as well.

I guess modern players aren't WIS' bread and butter but it seems crazy to only use the stats available from a century ago as the lowest common denominator for the sim.

Agreed. That and the use of RF/G over RF/9 which torpedoes the range ratings of platoon and utility players. That will start driving me nuts about 10 rounds from now.

I have honestly never played it... I think it is slightly different, but it's also specific to HBD and their made up players. You can't use it for historical leagues and/or real players.
