BTTF 2017 : Scoobus wins World Series (2 Viewers)

Did anyone's relief pitchers pitch effectively last time? Mine were a dumpster fire except for one guy who had like an IRL 14.x k/9, 5.x BB/9 and 5+ ERA. I feel like he was a Twin. Anyway that guy was solid while my good relievers were total ####.
My good guys were pretty much the same as in RL, but Blaine Hardy was also really good for some reason.

it was hammel or him for me.......his d was awful and I just don't know if last year was a fluke with the bat.  couldn't gamble that.
i had Aledmys and Tulo very close. Pretty much a toss-up.

Diaz had a bunch of errors early, but only 4 from June onward.

but he missed 1 of those months entirely...........think he got a functional C fielding, but likely errors dipped due to his D+ range.  balls whizzing by him.  the sim is so O overblown, maybe I can find a better fielder and have a weak bat SIMROID up for me.

I am actually pretty happy I switched up and mixed more hitting in this time. I now have 4 hitters and 3 starting pitchers. I am very excited for my team do far. Top half of my lineup is done, just need the bottom half.

Andrus SS

Trout CF

Santana 1B

Lamb 3B

SP1 Teheran

SP2 Tanaka

SP3 Lackey

1B Wil Myers - power, speed, defense

Noob strategist here can't resist the offensive value. My sim team will reflect my Astros... maybe the best offensive line-up in the league and it will be needed to overcome the dicey pitching.

1B Wil Myers
2B Jose Altuve
3B Anthony Rendon
LF AJ Pollock
CF Charlie Blackmon
RF Khris Davis

SP Lance McCullers

And he's going from Safeco, a pitchers park, to Chase Field, a hitters park. Could be scary.
Safeco is actrually a decent HR park. Not on the level as Chase, but it is top 6 in baseball.

But yes, i am hoping that his 1.8/9 last year was a fluke, and he figures that #### out as he gets a bit more experience.

Good news: half a dozen picks made in rapid succession.

Bad news: They were all picks by DD of players already chosen.

Good momo

We think of 1B as so deep, and yes, it's the "easiest" position to fill, but in terms of getting a really good bat, especially with power, and not killing yourself someplace defensively, the options are not nearly as deep as appears at first glance.

Whereas in historical SIMs I almost always wait and punt 1B, my experience taking one early here has been good so far.
The difference with 1B is that at least the supply of competent bats won't run out. You can get a boring 750 OPS guy pretty late. If you take your chances like that at an MI spot you might end up really screwed.

But I do think there's only so many impact bats and after Santana and Belt we're about at the larryplateau.
