4pm free for all pick (49.15)

Keynan Middleton, RP Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim California United States North America Earth Milky Way

No way my team is winning 70 games, not even an outside chance.  I'm the Padres of BTTF 2017 except I don't have a pretty good 1Bman.

I just drafted because I wanted to get it over with.  Kind of like the inoculation line in basic training.
I'm gunna bite the bullet here soon, but I really don't want to research anymore.
Here is my research methodology the past ten rounds:

Hmm, I guess I could use an OFer.  Let me check the Brewers 40 man roster.

Nope, all gone.  Snakes?  Nope, all gone.  Oh wait the D'Backs have a reliever that might throw 30 innings, I'll take him.  /picks

I was thinking about Matt Boyd today (not in a sexual way) and wondered where he had gone in this draft and who took him.

Come to find out I took him in the 15th.

Man, looking back, taking mediocre SPs in rounds 3-4 when all the great hitters were going... not a great plan.

RnR went Price, Strasburg, Harvey.

Just read a nice article about pitchers fighting for a spot on the Pirate's roster and found that three of them had not been picked.  Then realized it was from 2014.

Lucas Sims, SP ATL

[Trevor Brown] made an appearance at 2B in a Cactus League game today
Yeah, he's trying out the infield this spring training. As you know, unless there are a ton of injuries, he's still going to AAA in a few weeks. Any injury to Posey or Hundley, though, would send him right up.

So, how many rounds would it take until we literally ran out of names? Could certainly hit 55 but at some point there are only so many prospects listed randomly in a news update to go on.

we could go 60 and still not cross the Tebow line

We could go 100 easy.  150 if we wanted to get crazy and draft the majority of Pro guys in the states.  30 teams with 25 man rosters.  Each with A, A+, AA, AAA rosters of 25.  That's 3750 players.

ETA: There are rookie level and short-season leagues in addition to that.  Bunch of 17 year old latin American kids signed last year not even in the states.

I can't escape the notion that 45 rounds is a sweet spot, with the addition of 1-2 rounds that could be chosen any time before May 1st.
