BTTF 2018: MLB123746 (1 Viewer)

Dylan Bundy, SP

UPSIDE (and also should be in line for IP - if he can get the HR's down, who knows? - but a lotta known meh and worse out there, I'll take a shot as I doubt he'd be around in 50 picks, maybe its a bit early)

@HellToupee - The "real" Ivy guy OTC

Some bonafide :nerd:  s at the turn here with the College bonafides.

I'd have to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure I'm following the same strategy as in previous years. (3 SPs, a scarcity guy and a best bat available at 1B with first 5 picks).

4.24: Wil Myers, 1B, SD

5.1 Garrett Richards, SP, LAA

Explanation for previous picks: I was searching the spreadsheet using the browser search function (which does not work on a spreadsheet, FYI), not the find and replace function on the spreadsheet

Alternate explanation:  I'm a ####ing idiot and you people should know that by now.
Richards on my 'no fly' list.

Friendly advice, you reaaaaaaaally don't want Coors, especially with how you've started.  Eephus is right, I usually go Trop every year which is neutral, slightly favoring pitching.

Coors, Cincy, Detroit, white sox, camden, atlanta, cleveland (i think this is the list)

I agree with Eephus about using neutral-ish parks, especially for those new to WIS.

I've used both U.S. Cellular (White Sox) and Camden Yards in past sims. Both allow HRs more than average, but both also suppress base hits. U.S. Cellular is closer to neutral than Camden.

I like the -1 singles but gimme a little pop for doubles and HRs approach, personally. The -1 helps extend innings and to a degree PAs a bit.

I was looking for innings in all the wrong places,

looking for starters in too many faces.

Searching your loogys, looking for aces

That's what I'm dreaming of...

These are some of the most important rounds of the draft, IMO. Especially the next 5 or so.  It's hard not to chase upside, but if you are too exposed and don't hit on a couple guys, getting little to no production this early can really hurt.  Especially at P.

Ideal guys are those that for some reason have upside but also have a decent floor, at least in terms of IP for pitchers - even crappy production is better than none at all, especially if overall you have a decent team. Later you can chase a flyer, because missing out doesn't really hurt so much.

At this point, floors are as important as upside, imo.

I really went back and fourth between him and Ozuna with my last pick. I was worried last year might be flukey though so didn't pull the trigger.
I think Pham will definitely regress some offensively, but I'm hoping that will be offset by the range boost of playing CF full-time. He could drop 100 points from last year's OPS and still be a nice pick here.

Between him and Salazar I'm clearly in a risk-taking mood today for some reason.
