@NFLSTROUD: Kellen Winslow told @RossTuckerNFL he's been informed by Greg Schiano Bucs are going another way and will try to trade him.

Shouldn't they have been looking to deal him at the draft? I remember they gave him a fairly rich contract to come to Tampa. They would probably have to eat some of that. The rest of the league knows what Winslow brings, and he's far overpaid and not elite (as he thinks himself to be). I think it's far more likely that he's cut outright. Regardless, one or the other he's not wearing a Bucs uniform going into preseason.

@NFLSTROUD: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Bucs worked out free agent TE Dallas Clark and they could sign him.

Carolina seems to have a taste for Miami U tight ends. Since they aren't bringing back Shockey they might take a look at Winslow.

I'm sure they'll have no problem getting something in return for him and will definitely won't just end up releasing him.
He has 3 years and 13mil left on his contract. I think teams will just wait until he is cut.

(Rotoworld) The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears and Bucs discussed a Kellen Winslow trade following the start of free agency.Analysis: More specifically, the Bucs were "were working to trade" Winslow to the Bears. It appears Chicago was more focused on closing its deal for Brandon Marshall. The Bears used a fourth-round pick on TE Evan Rodriguez, but are still one of the league's thinner teams at tight end. If they're at all interested in Winslow, however, it's more likely they'd wait for him to be released than trying to acquire him.

just added Clark in a dynasty with large benches as my third TE. we'll see.
I think he will be fine if he is starting there. I think it would mean the team saw something they like and I have to give any and everyone a pass for anything that happened in Indy last year. I mean, when your QBs are guys that showed up a week before the season started and a guy that has had the worst accuracy record the last 4 seasons, its hard to fault it when everyone has a down year.

If he gets released, I wouldn't mind the Rams to take a look. He and Kendricks could form a decent duo at TE. Look for Kendricks to make big strides this year. He has all the tools, he just had rookie jitters last year.

I was being sarcastic, I actually laughed when I read the thread title. It should be changed to "Bucs delusional if they think anyone will trade for KW2"

Apparently they are no longer thinking this, but it's what KW said on the radio today. They tried to trade him months ago to no avail. I would change the thread title, but I'm on my phone and don't care enough.

Report: Kellen Winslow generated interest from Bears

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to have a hard time trading Kellen Winslow, but it sounds like they will give it a shot before possibly releasing him outright. One of their first calls will likely be to the Chicago Bears.

The Chicago Tribune writes that "there was talk" in March the Bucs were working to trade Winslow to Chicago. The Bears instead dealt for Brandon Marshall and drafted Evan Rodriguez from Temple in the fourth round.

My old boss Mike Florio over at ProFootballTalk.com reports that Winslow has no preferred destination for where he'll land. Winslow unsurprisingly prefers to keep his contract just as it is. Winslow is slated to earn $3.3 million next season.

Chicago is looking to Kellen Davis to start at the position, so they could definitely use an upgrade. There is also the tricky matter that Winslow shares an agent with Davis.

Buffalo and Oakland are two other tight end-deficient teams that could be willing to take a look at Winslow. We're just not sure they would give up a draft pick for him.

Is Schiano setting an example with TE Winslow?

Coach Greg Schiano apparently is making a statement with his treatment of TE Kellen Winslow, who said Monday on SiriusXM radio he's not in the Bucs' plans. Winslow, who has had six knee operations, has frequently missed practices in the past to rest his knees but in the last three years has not missed a game. Winslow was not at the first week of this year's OTAs. "You just don't get rid of one of your best [veterans] because of [missing some voluntary offseason workouts]," Winslow told SiriusXM.

This might be the start of one of those 'college coach in way over his head' headlines of the future.

I gotta disagree. He may well be over his head for other reasons, but the eye in the sky don't lie as they say. Winslow's body of work was on tape in full display and Schiano knew he was dealing with an overpriced 28 yo vet TE with bad knees who is really physically more like 34 yo. It's only a surprise they didn't cut bait on Winslow earlier. I doubt they get a trade done knowing that the Bucs will eventually cut him but we'll see.I think Luke Stocker is head and shoulders above what Dallas Clark brings and will end up beating him out for TE1 status on the Bucs. That's not to say Stocker is a good fantasy TE, but more to say that I think Clark is shot and even though he's cheap, he may not show enough to even make it to the regular season, but we'll see.

lol at the Bucs getting rid of Winslow and signing Clark. Freeman needs all the help he can get. If Winslow lands in a good situation (like the Bears), he should be a nice value this year in deep leagues.

Looks like KW2 will be a Seahawk:

The Seahawks scratched their itch for another tight end today when they traded for Kellen Winslow, who averaged 73 receptions the past three seasons for the Buccaneers.

In exchange for Winslow, the Seahawks traded an undisclosed conditional pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Seahawks have been looking for a tight end to complement Zach Miller since John Carlson signed with the Vikings in free agency. Miller was signed in free agency last summer.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Winslow was a first-round draft by Cleveland in 2004 and caught 219 passes in four seasons with the Browns, including a career-high 89 in 2006. He also had his career-best in receiving yards (1,106) with the Browns in 2007, when he was voted to the Pro Bowl.

For his career, he has 437 receptions for 4,836 yards and 23 touchdowns. Winslow caught 75 passes last season.

Winslow, who will turn 29 in July, is the son of Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow.

That's Winslow,s spin...he,s been rumored out the door since well before voluntary workouts.

Well for those hoping for a Zach Miller revival....
I really don't understand Seattle. So Miller is going to block again all year?
Let me help you....1) Competition.2) PC and JS don't care about your fantasy team.
Yeah, I have Miller in one of my six fantasy leagues. This is killing me. It's not at all about me wondering why a team would sign a guy to a huge contract, then have him come in block one year, then bring in another pass-catching TE via trade the next year.
