We are only waiting for Skeletore and bleachercreacher. I say we open up these 2 spots as I have posted and sent PMs over the last few days to no response. Maybe if someone new would take both teams (one picks 1st, the other 27th) or if an existing owner wants to take on another team, we could get this rolling.

Secondly, I think we should do a 2 hr pick limit, with the clock shut off from 10pm est to 8am est. and off on the weekends. Teams will still be able to pick and can also pre draft. Whats everyones thoughts on that?

Skeletore was a good and active drafter last year. I'll try to contact him. Maybe 8ebok has his cell from last year.

Your second point, I'm personally fine with. I think people registered with the expectation it'd be 9-5 though so those extra hours might be a pain for some, even if you can queue up players. I'd say scale it back to 9-6 est and 1 hour clock.

Not real big on the 1 hour clock, especially as teams can pre-select and a team might not know it. I check in a lot, but requiring us to check in hourly is a bit much.

2 hours seems to work IMO.

A 1 hour clock is going to lead to a ton of skipped picks.

 
I can take one if you need. Don't have a draft slot preference or team preference, but I do want only one. I'll pm info to NB.

 
There really isn't an urgency of time on this. This is suppose to be fun/relaxed for the most part. If anything, I think a 2.5 hour time limit would be best. Some of us have work where we can't check the posts/boards as frequently. I also like the no time limit on weekends and assume no one is picking on SAT and SUN. In any case, those are my thoughts on the length of time.

 
Agree with no trades and Nates timer proposal. Predrafting will help keep things moving.

 
I could take the dolphins if someone later in the draft wanted to swap with the jets. I'd be interested In running the two different strategies with regards to draft position.

I'd also like to wait til Saturday to start. I already know I have zero access tomorrow to internet. Would suck to miss out suddenly because of a weekday rando start rather than giving us all some time to prep lists and such.

Not like the season starts tmrw and we are rushing right?

 
We'll go ahead and look for a new owner for KCC since Skeletore has not logged in. Once we find that we can start draft. As auger said we will start draft now with no timer. Timer will start Mon at 8am EST and be a 2 hr limit. Clock will be on from 8am to 8pm during the week. Off on evenings and weekends.

 
2 hour clock? Gonna be tough for people who normally can't access the internet during work or classes. I suppose the pre-ranking system should help with that though. What was the clock set at last year? I think around 2.5 or 3 early on is better, there's tons of time to finish this and the early picks are pretty important.

I can live with the 2hour timer though.

Yea, the fact that you can set your pre-draft rankings should eliminate some concern over the 2hr clock. I think the 2hr time limit is fine.

 
Oy, I'm already regretting joining this...I'm gonna be obsessively checking the league site for the forseeable future lol. But seriously, this should be a lot of fun.

Only 22 more picks until I'm up!

I have seen enough from to think that if he isn't elite, he will be in the near future. We are building a franchise for the long haul. I think he is the type of QB that will make everyone around him better. From everything I've seen/heard, he seems to be a real student of the game and a solid leader.

As far as on the field, I see excellent running/escapability and a big arm. He may not be asked to do as much as the rest of the QBs given his great defense, but he certainly checks all the boxes for me.

 
I hope noone gets their panties in a bunch about this kind of discussion...

but what's the consensus on taking a DT early? Ill be straight, Ive never done a draft w defensive players - and I know this draft is different... but how much emphasis would you put on a stud DT over say... a LB or or DE?

depends how you want to set up your team.

Part of this is to see how people rate players, but the bigger thing is to have fun setting up your team as you like it. I don't think there is a "right" way neccessarily.

Don't have a problem with any discussion like this. Some of these DTs that can stop the run but even better rush the passer are very attractive. I'd prefer an edge rusher but I'm not sure how many true 4-3 DEs are worth a 1st rd pick.

Tne first pick makes or breaks your team. Have you watched enough tape to make sure he fits your system, is he a leader, is he just a product of his system?
