My thought process on this was the fact that all the top tier QB's were already gone. I wasn't interested in Manning or Brady. Decided to roll with McCoy as he is just hitting his prime and is one of the few absolute complete backs. Easy to build a great offense around this guy.
Fair enough. There's no denying he'll be a dominant force for a tleast the next few years
Love the Kuechly pick...I knew he wouldn't make it to my pick, but I was still kinda hoping he would

I think this has been brought up before, but let's keep the 'table talk' to a minimum. I don't think it would be proper to talk about guys still available, which can definitely affect peoples' draft plans. Obviously we can talk about the people that were taken, but let's not go into the
"Why did you take _____ when ____ is still available" or "Has someone taken _____ yet?" or "Looks like there are some good players like _____ left"
You get what I mean =)

Not going to lie, Stafford was the guy I wanted at 1.11, but am happy to pluck Matty Ice and leave the first with a 28-year old franchise signal caller. His numbers were down last year and bitter old Tony Gonzalez say's "he's not elite" but the Falcons were a mess last year (ravaged by injuries and the worst O-line in football). With the talent I'll put around him, I'll take a guy with a career 65% completion percentage, 2:1 TD:Int ratio, who doesn't miss games, has taken his team to the playoffs every year except one and rarely loses home games. The black hole will gladly welcome the ice-man... Just. Win. Baby.

Wouldve loved a franchise QB, but since there wasnt one left, I didnt even consider another offensive player.
Kuechly was the highest rated player left on my board, closely followed by Quinn. Fely like Luke was a no brainer and puts me at a huge advantage on the defensive side

Absolutely love the Quinn pick, I will need a stud LT or he is going to eat alive my QB 2 times a year...

He's a great young player for sure.
I was hoping people would avoid LBs until i grabbed him at the end of 1st.
Looking ahead, it will be strange to draft veterans knowing i have the top rookie pick.

I am elated to get Brady at 1.20. Yes, he is 36 (37 at the start of the season) but I think he has at least 4 more good years and maybe more. I think people are underestimating the new rules designed to protect players and more specifically quarterbacks. Combine that with the fact that he has never really had health problems (*knock on wood*), I envision Brady playing into his 40s.

I think Brady at 20 is good value. You'll combine him with a relatively early 2nd and your team is an instant contender for the next 2-3years at least. Although, I did think his play dropped off a little this year, he is still money when it counts.
I agree he'll play at a high level for a few more years but this year showed that you need to surround him with some solid weapons and not just the standard 'Belichek Role Players' if you want him to be the Tommy of old... It'll be interesting to see what offensive skill players you add around him...

I think Brady allows me supreme flexibility. We saw him win in a spread offense featuring Moss/Welker. We saw him win in a fast paced, two TE offense with Gronk/Hernandez. We saw him win with a strong defense and ground game. I think I can build any style and type of offense with Brady at quarterback.
Even this past year, he was playing most of the year without many weapons. He had Gronk and Vereen for parts of the year but Edelman was really the only consistent contributor.

Patrick Peterson at 1.22 and Peyton at 1.23. Peterson was who I was intending to draft before Brady fell. Good picks all around so far.

Haden in round 1 also at 1.24. Run on cornerbacks!
In this pass-heavy league, it's so important to have some great players in the secondary as the Seahawks proved this past year.
I'm happy to get Haden at 24, I would've had a tough time choosing between him and Patrick Peterson if he fell to me also, so I'm happy the Bills made that choice for me

I do agree with the mindset of getting an elite corner in the mid to late first round (took Sherman in the first last year). Having a true shutdown corner can give a defense so much flexibility in scheme and play calling.

How was Ben at 17? I also considered Brady, Manning, Romo, Sherman, and Patrick Peterson.

I actually like Peterson's value as compared to Sherman/Haden because Peterson offers a team potentially HUGE value as a punt returner (and sprinkled in on offense). Granted, finding a punt returner late can be just as effective, but I like that quality about Peterson.
Not saying that Peterson is a better cover corner, but just pointing out that he offers some sneaky value elsewhere.

Shutdown corner. Is there really such a thing? Ehh. I would probably say no. I think a pass rush helps corners more than corners help a pass rush. Can't remember which of the NFL guys said it, but after watching the ALL 22 tape of the Super Bowl, he said something about while the Seattle secondary is very good, there were guys open most of the game. The pass rush was the key that day.

I almost went Peterson because of his punt return capabilities, but after researching his stats I see a decline every season. In addition (real or perceived) he tends to shy away from tackling RB's. These are the reasons I went with Sherman.
As others have stated CB is not a bad choice in a pass happy league. Having a great corner eliminates half the playing field right off the bat.

Easy pick for me.. If you have a safety of his caliber, it takes pressure off entire secondary ever play
