for me, in my two leagues, i can say i have had TERRIBLE luck this season.

in one league, my first two picks were shonne greene and deangelo williams. i am currently in last place in the 12 team league.

and in my other league, my first round pick was ryan grant and subsequently i picked jermichael finley. i am currently in 8th place out of 12.

the fantasy gods have forsaken me this year. oh well.

who else has been spited by the gods of fantasy???

Jahvid Best. For all his talent It's clear that he's just too gimpy to make it through a full year. R.I.P. Week 2. You gave me fond memories.

Steve Smith CAR, drafted as my WR2 in ppr, thought his nice end of the year last year with Matt Moore would continue, and he started off okay, but that offense just became downright depressing...

This is a list I've accumulated over the years. It's pretty short and I don't think a RB will ever make it on to it:

Drew Brees (inconsistency screwed me over three years ago, will never use a high pick on him)

MSW (non startable for me. I don't know what the problem is but he is way too inconsistent and lost the playoffs for me last year)

Portis (RB exception, I wouldn't even take a flier on him this year)

Schaub (drafted him heavy this year and he has KILLED one of my teams almost single handedly)

How? He came into the NFL with a reputation for being injury-prone. Now he's injured. He also has viable competition with the backups on the current roster, not to mention an OL that continues to be shaky. It will be at least a year before they can patch it up and give any RB a chance to be a weekly contributor.

I am not making the same mistake i made this year.

I am staying away from Jets RBs, Colts RBs Boldin & Moss....yea i went Greene, Moss, Addai Boldin with my 1st 4 picks

Actually, a healthy Jahvid Best in 2011 is a bye [buy] low. People are foolish not to see this.
Drafted him in a Keep 3 league, I think I'll be throwing him back into the pool for next year. No thanks.
I think you're giving up too quick. Turf toe in both feet is no joke. Just to play devil's advocate:Fred Taylor injured a lot early, had some fantastic years.Jamal Lewis tore an ACL for the 2nd time early in career. Came back to have a 2000 year.Drew Brees was written off by real life medical docs.Jimmy Smith cut by Dallas after injuries.Point being, if you saw the talent and believe din him before, think twice before cutting bait.

Schaub is dead to me. Drafted him about 12 rounds higher than he should have gone, and it cost me my RB2 to sell him for a reliable QB.

This ^^^^^^. He dropped so far to me that I took him in 2 drafts. He is no longer on either roster. I am cursed to have good WR's that have no QB's - Smith, Marshall and Fitz. I will not make that mistake again regardless of how far they drop.

I'd actually like Best as a buy-low next season if the Lions invest some resources in their OL this off-season.

Ochocinco... it's been this way for a few years. I've been trying to dump him for years in dynasty. Most people seem to hate him.

Brandon Marshall hasn't really panned out for me in relation to the 3rd round pick I spent on him. I don't see drafting him in the 1st 5 rounds any time soon.

I'm sorry, but for this statement to be true, the rest of your team likely sucks. You had a bad draft, don't blame Schaub.

This is a 14-team, low-yardage-points/TD heavy, .5 PPR. Right now, Schaub is 19th in points among QBs in this league, and the separation between him and the 14th-ranked guy is like 3 pts/week (which is a lot in a low yardage/TD heavy league). It WAS a bad draft because I took Schaub over better QBs, and believed in him so much I didn't take a quality backup. Like I said, I drafted Schaub heavy across all my leagues, and in most, the yardage output from other skill position players and/or waiver QBs was enough to overcome Schaub's horrific fantasy play this year. But taking him in this league, with its settings, was a death-knell for my team. Obviously, I'm not blaming Schaub for me drinking the preseason Schaub Kool-Aid, and if he falls to the late rounds next year I'll pick him up -- but that doesn't mean I'll ever draft him in the early rounds again, either.

Any competition Best has currently isn't on the roster. We've seen enough of Smith (who's injured again) and Morris to know they're average at best. The Lions need a complimentary running back in the draft or free agency.

I'm done with this guy! Ready to drop him NOW.

"Pierre Thomas (ankle) was held out of practice Tuesday.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Jeff Duncan "can only assume" there's been a setback since Thomas put in a limited practice Monday. Coach Sean Payton was unforthcoming with an update, saying only, "We'll just continue to monitor where he's at. But he didn't take any team reps." Thomas isn't going to play this week."

I'll still draft him but Ray Rice is really starting to piss me off.
Why? Over 100 yards each of the last 3 weeks...I am happy, at least...#5 RB over that time frame.
I have Rice in one league....and while consistency is good. I really do expect my first rounder (and needless to say Rice was a top five pick) to win a game or two for me each year almost singlehandedly. I don't think Rice has done that.

Hines Ward comes to mind.

I also will probably stay away from an undersupported Steven Jackson.

Matt Forte has been underwhelming too.

And drafting any DST fairly high. I overpaid for the Jets it appears, after overpaying for other DSTs in previous years.

B. Marshall hurt my team drafted him at the end of round 2. (But I also drafted Nicks in round 5 so that helped - until the injury that is)

Has any first rounder really done that?

wait till his playoff schedule kicks in...you might be reaping the rewards of holding onto him.while he has under performed his draft slot early he has been good lately and could be great when it counts.
