Yes. Lately, more rookie WRs see action their first season. This guy is huge, fast, and great hands. Same things were said about Rogers though.

The NFL seems to really be changing given the early success of guys like Greg Jennings, Santonio Holmes, Michael Clayton, Lee Evans, Anquan Boldin, Roy Williams, Larry Fitzgerald, and Marques Colston. Most of these guys didn't break 1,000 yards as a rookie, but many of them made a pretty substantial impact. It seems like we can generally expect the elite WR prospects to come in and play reasonably well right away. Many of them still don't hit their stride until year 2 or 3, but I think a guy like Calvin Johnson can at least have 800-900 receiving yards as a rookie. It really depends on his situation. If he is the de facto #1 like Boldin, Colston, and Clayton were as rookies, then I think he has a realistic shot at 1,000 yards. If he ends up behind a veteran like Fitzgerald and Evans did, then I think it will take a year or two before we start to see big stats. It's a moot point at this time. I have the 1.01 in one league and I'm going to wait until the NFL draft before I make a decision or trade the pick.

He will grade out as one of the top WR prospects in the history of the draft. He is as close to a flawless prospect as you're going to see this year. He is definitely on a par with Larry Fitzgerald at the time Fitzgerald came out, if not better.

Yes, and I expect him to start on opening day. Any team taking Johnson has to be seeing him as the centerpiece of their passing offense for a LONG time.

Seems like a solid citizen/good kid, speed to burn, soft hands, pure athleticism and height.

Best pure tools wideout I can recall since Moss.

If he goes to any team but Oaktown, I can see 75 catches, 1000 yards and 8 TDs, with room to improve. Nice fantasy season and a must have in keeper leagues, mostly due to the good head on his shoulders.

The only time Rogers should be mentioned in the same sentence as Calvin Johnson would be if you saw Calvin order at a McDonald's drive thru and said 'how's it going?' to Rogers as Rogers took his order.

Yeah, despite it being a running joke if Detroit were to take him, I wouldn't be entirely disappointed if we took him. Johnson, Williams, and Fuerry could be a very nice trio overall. However, I think fans and coaches are going to be gun shy with him, simply because we've been burned twice now with very high picks at WR not panning out (Rogers and Mike Williams). But having watched Johnson a number of times (living around Atlanta and all), I can tell you that this guy is indeed the real deal. If he were with a team like Ohio State, Michigan, USC, or a number of other schools, this guy would be all-world coming out of college.

This guy is the real deal. If he had a 1/2 decent QB in college, people would realize how good he is.

You must really dislike the poor kid. Do you want to doom him to being a bust forever? Granted I love Roy Williams' game. But can Detroit (and Millen) really get away with 4 top 10 WRs??? I'd have to think someone might have to throw a block for the offense at some point.
