Calvin Johnson - why ranked so high? (1 Viewer)

I've been high on Megatron (after you drop a certain amount of balls, do they take your nickname away?) since the beginning of the year, but I can't see him outscoring guys like Marshall and Crayton without Roy Williams on the field.

I guess the ranking sees him stepping up and becoming a #1 WR. Any Detroit homers see that happening? From what I saw on Thanksgiving (with the exception of the late TD grab) and last weeks 1 catch performance, it doesn't look good.

Drawing coverages is way overrated. Playing with a top WR on your team doesn't just draw coverages, it draws TARGETS. Statistically speaking, players don't see a change in their catch% when they go from the #2 option to the #1 option, but they definitely see an increase in targets. Look at Reggie Wayne with Marvin Harrison compared to Reggie Wayne without (or, for that matter, Harrison with Wayne compared to Harrison without).

Calvin Johnson should be rated very high this week due to 3 key words:Garbage Time Stats
That is the key, the Lions "should" be losing by the score of 28-3 by the middle of the second quarter. The Cowboys will let up a bit and the garbage points will pile up.The final should be in the range of 38-21.

I have Calvin in three leagues... I hope he does see the ball come his way. Let's face it... Troy Walters could have a s good if not better of a day than Calvin. It's who is calling the plays, it's not about reads. If you play him you are gambling on a guy who is not in his right mind and might be somewhat insane.
