Can you live without using the internet? (1 Viewer)

It's hard to imagine what life was like without the internet.  Yet, we heavily rely on using it.

How would today's culture fare without the Internet, if it suddenly collapsed or 'went off-line'?

Can I?  Sure.  Would it be painful in an inconvenient type of way?  Yep.

  • I never use phone books anymore
  • I write about a dozen checks a year as opposed to the hundred I used to write
  • I don't have to balance a checkbook
  • I don't buy but a few stamps a year
  • I don't have to spend time or money to develop pictures
  • I can keep up to date with scores of games as they happen
  • I don't have to go to Walmart if I don't want to
  • I can communicate with 'friends' at arms length, just the way I like it
  • I don't have to visit blockbuster
Life without internet would suck but it is doable.  Slower but doable.  !st world problem for sure.

Would be difficult to adjust to at first but eventually it would be fine, humans adapt quickly.  I remember always reading the box scores in the papers, kinda miss that actually. (Yes I know they have box scores online in about a thousand different places)

as long as the internet isn't attached to my vital organs, I think I could..

probably not- at least give me Amazon :bag:

I had to do it for a month once.  The first few days were terrible but after that it was an amazing experience.  It was like living in a different world - so much more peaceful, and a returned focus on real people.

Sounds horrible.

I welcome it...happens the last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August almost every year for me and there isn't a time the rest of the year I feel better than I do then.

I don't use the Internet in my sleep or the shower. Prolly shouldn't use it on the commute but I don't come across many chubby latinos without taking the scenic route
