Can you negotiate with DirecTV? (2 Viewers)

I got not call or email so I called the 877 number.

Got $43 off per month for 12 months of full price Xtra package. (lose 8 channels, gain 5, nothing of note)

Sunday Ticket Max

one time credit of $17.99 for hbo

Calling me back to see if 3 months of free movie channels can happen. Because I already had HBO was told it couldn't happen.

No gift card.

So my bill goes from $76 a month with HBO to $66 a month with HBO for 12 months (plus that one time credit). My old credits were expiring in September anyway so timing is good and now don't have to make that annual august sunday ticket call now. Told me to call back next May for more deals. Just a heads up if you weren't aware, you'll be auto renewed for sunday ticket max in 2016 if you don't call them and cancel it. Despite my confusion everything ended up ok. Thanks guys.
Glad it worked out.

Account is now disconnected.

No record of the call I made yesterday, only my initial cancellation. My cancellation date was 6/14 and after yesterdays call (getting the new deal) they disconnected HBO right away and then disconnected the whole account at midnight. Back on hold.

Talked to initial guy who transferred me to another lady. Had to repeat the whole thing. Transferred to 3rd person, supposed was to be directly transferred but got the main menu instead. Third lady came on, said "thank you for calling directv, who do I have the plea..." and she hung up on me. Seething.

Did you check your account online as was suggested earlier in the thread after making the call to get the deal?

The information should have shown up immediately under your current transactions. Double check there. If you see nothing, then the person who helped you yesterday really screwed up (which sounds so strange considering the information you provided was pretty much the same as every one else got).

Welcome to the Script. The first rule of the Script is: you do not talk about the Script The second rule of the Script is: you DO NOT talk about the Script! Third rule of the Script: someone yells "stop!", goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule: one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: No shirts, no shoes. Seventh rule: fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time using the Script, you have to fight.

:lmao:

What's happening with Willie sounds awfully familiar to what I went through in February. Was a complete joke of an experience.

new script!

get your service turned off "accidentally" and then sit on hold for 2 hours while talking to 8 different people and they will eventually cave and mail you a $200 GC

OK, all done. Got everything back on. All prices as promised, sunday ticket max, etc, but now getting gift card as well, just have to mail in the rebate form on the website. 8th person was helpful. Good lord.

I would say to the people who did not get the gift card because you were too late just call the regular number, get the reconnect department and tell them you were told you would be able to access the rebate form for the $200 winback gift card on the website and you cannot. When I told the lady today i had been promised gift card (I was originally told I was too late) she said I'd get it no problem. As soon as everything was squared away the link to the form appeared in the rebate section of directv.com.
