Car audio system issue (1 Viewer)

I have a 2010 Toyota 4Runner with a JBL Premium system that is original equipment.  While driving the other day, the sound simply cut out.  Gone.  Silence.  I thought at first I lost my satellite signal which unfortunately happens way too frequently.  But that was not the case.  The radio display usually says "no signal" when that happens.  My display was still showing all the channel and song information.  It was clearly getting information.  I switched off the satellite to the AM and FM modes...still no sound.    At that point I thought my speaker system died or became disconnected somehow.  But, I switched over to Bluetooth mode and was able to play music from my phone just fine.  The navigation map that shows in the display window seems to be operating normally as well. Any car audio folks around here with insight as to what is going on here?

The odds are you just have a bad connection somewhere.  I would pull out the unit and inspect all the connections.  Look for any damaged cable or lose pins.  Reinsert all the connectors and see if it works.  I would guess there is one location if you wiggled it around the sound would probably go in and out.

I’m a Toyota guy, I drive an ‘07 Tundra limited with the JBL set up. Wife has a ‘16 4runner. Perhaps my greatest gripe is that the head units they use are junk. In both vehicles..My JBL speaker system with sub pumps when powered by my iPhone so I’m upgrading very soon to a crutchfield package setup. Likely around $400 for something decent. I’ve used their install setups before, very user friendly.

Seems like this may be reasonable.  I can probably pull the unit.  I am not confident I could fix it or get it all back in place after I do!  :bag:

Sounds like a short. A good hard palm strike to the dashboard might be all it takes to fix it a least temporarily.
