CAR rbs week 3 vs the NYG on ThNF Jstew is big domino (1 Viewer)

So what to do with the Carolina Rb. WK 1, with one of the big 2 out look s link a dream game for Deangelo. So what happens? CAR abandons the run and everyone bombs especially Deangelo with negative yardage on 6 carries.

WK 2. Stewart is back suggesting more of last years RBBC like issues. So hat happens? The panthers run wild with all 3 Rb's getting a rushing TD + can newton too!

Now cue week 3. Short week with Thursday night game. Jstew no practicing with the ankle, but he looked great last week with the same injury and no news of any setbacks AFAIK. Playing a giants d that has been lit up by the mediocre cowboys and buccaneers. So what happens?

 i'm as clueless as ou right now. I'm theorizing witout really researching yet, that stewart might be the play as screens will be used to offset the fierce NYG pass rush. Maybe?

Hopefully some giants homers can help us figure out which of these 4 Rb's is the one to play this week.

theres no rhyme or reason to how theyre used. i hate owning any of them but stewart & dwil both make solid flex options.

I don't think that is true. I only watched redzone, but I a least appeared that rather than splitting reps in each series that Stewart/Deangelo were given all the reps on each particular drive. This could be entirely based on the small sample size I have on the game, as I haven't watched the rewinds yet.

I expect more committee work and carries split evenly among Stewart and Williams on a short week especially. It's a nice luxury to have multiple backs on Thursday games. Limited upside as they cancel each other out and Cam vultures TD's. Also the Giants secondary is weak so it could mean less overall rushing attempts. Neither Carolina RB is a bad play, but not exciting options either.

Yeah...the pain of owning Dwill right now (especially with the rest of the crap I have at RB)...almost forced to flex him every week.

It's almost comical how universally frustrated every owner in this thread will be coming off a week in who they scored a TD, and in DW/JS owners cases had 14± pts.

I was very happy with Stewart at flex this week. but the fact of the matter is with them splitting carries and both Tolbert & Newton stealing goal line TDs, the TDs will be few and far between meaning a whole lot of 5 pt games out of your flex with a 13 pt game sprinkled in here and there.

I agree. I think Stewart has a low-end RB2 value in PPR leagues but like you said there could be some duds along the way. All three RBs got snaps inside the 10 and both Williams and Tolbert scored on short TD runs. I was surprised to see Williams on the field inside the 5. He only had 7 carries inside the 10 all of last season. I expected Tolbert to see heavy action near the goal line because he's so good in those situations but Williams getting a shot surprised me. That's something to keep an eye on.

I referenced him not practicing in the op. Did not see he was a ? For Thursday....

Upon reread I don't see the "? Mark" you reference. With is ankle/e/perience/history I put I'm in the Westbrook/nicks/Calvin class of 'I expect him not to practice, by if they go I evaluate them as I normally wold have. I'd rather see anyone o tat list. At practice frankly.

English translation please?

I hate these Thursday gsames at the best of times. Made a decision at the start of the year to avoid all involved players if I possibly could (exception being WR on teams that I thought might get some garbage time yards).

Add in the RBBC, an iffy hammmie and Cam's rushing and I think I will be showing J Stew the bench this week.

He gets the Falcons the week after which should announce his 2012 arrival. Patience is a virtue here.

What are a Rb owners least favorite alliterative? Jstew with the added turf toe? Bump tollbert?http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/2012/09/stewart-could-miss-game-vs-giants.html
Tolbert's always a threat to score but he did next-to-nothing in Week 1 when Stewart didn't play. Williams was putrid against the Bucs but I'd roll with him as a flex or high-end RB2 if I needed him tomorrow night. I doubt Stewart plays.

Fwiw some offdee 7 on the NFLN reporting, I think her name was Harlot... said that she has heard fro. A reliable source that jstew WILL play Thursday night. :wall:
Rebecca Harlow. Did she just report that? She's been saying the past two days that Panther "sources" are saying Stewart will play but I haven't seen anything from her since Rivera talked today and he didn't sound very optimistic about JStew.
