Testaverde downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game
'Sore' Testaverde misses Friday workout; Moore could get start

Carolina Panthers quarterback Vinny Testaverde sat out today’s practice because of soreness in the Achilles tendon that has sidelined him recently, according to coach John Fox.
Testaverde, who had practiced the previous two days and was expected to start Sunday’s game with Atlanta at Bank of America Stadium, is now listed as questionable for the game on the team’s injury report.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a setback,” Fox said. “It’s a little sore and we elected to rest him,” Fox said, calling Testaverde day-to-day.
Fellow quarterback David Carr is listed as out for Sunday, despite doing some practice drills today. He suffered a concussion last Sunday and doctors are being cautious with him.
That means if Testaverde can’t play, quarterbacking duties will fall to Matt Moore, who has played briefly in two games this season. Drew Olson, signed to the practice squad earlier this week, would likely be promoted to the roster to be the backup quarterback.
Center Justin Hartwig (broken thumb) practiced fully again, but is listed as questionable on the injury report.
