Carrie Fisher has died. #### you 2016 (1 Viewer)

Not an icon to my gen like to the Xers, but she very much lived the life of someone whose first movie line was "Wanna ####?" and i respect that. RIP -

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealously. The shadow of greed, that is.”

I felt a disturbance in the force as if millions cried out in anguish and loss.

So sad especially for those of us of a certain age. She lived life fiercely and with no apologies. RIP.

damn...I was believing the news that she was stable.

If I had the time and didn't have to run into a meeting, I'd do my duty and photoshop her into the ghost scene from RotJ along side Obi Wan and yoda

Rip

Always will remember her looking hot in rotj at Jabba's palace.

damn. i had hoped she had a chance for a *brilliant* second/third/fourth act to her career as a survivor of this. i was looking forward to more stories and perspective from her.

So sad.

3 of the 4 hours of the oscars is going to be the In Memoriam section. What the mother ####.

Only going to get worse. Think of all the true icons who are in their twilight. Next year could actually be worse.

My mortality is staring me right in the face today.

RIP Carrie Fisher.  Her mom Debbie Reynolds is still living at 84 and her dad Eddie Fisher was 82 when he died.  I wish Carrie Fisher had taken better care of herself.

Sad stuff.

I did think about this possibility when I saw TFA last year. Gotta think the writers planned for this possibility.  Wouldn't shock me if they killed Leia in episode 8 just to be on the safe side.

Sad she has died but will always cherish her memories and gifts she leaves on screen. I can remember having a huge crush on her as a child going to the movies.

May she RIP

Kind of sucks we won't get to see princess Leia reunite with her brother now that they found him

This is a very sad death. We all loved princess Leia. She sounded like an amazing woman that dealt with her demons all her life. She was absolutely stunning woman.

Not sure about that. Looks like they wrapped filming for episode 8 back in July. Will obviously be an issue 3 years from now assuming Leia survives the next movie

She had a very pretty voice. You can hear it, briefly, in Hannah and Her Sisters. And of course she was married to Paul Simon for a short time.

The fan in me sadly did wonder that first..  if Leia did survive Star Wars 8, what now?  I guess the easy answer is they can CGI the crap out of anyone now.

Entire movies could be CGI replicas of people at some point..

Oh, and bum deal for her...  60 is a bit too young to go down.

Not when you had past alcohol and drug issues.

“Carrie holds such special place in the hearts of everyone at Lucasfilm it is difficult to think of a world without her.  She was Princess Leia to the world but a very special friend to all of us.  She had an indomitable spirit, incredible wit, and a loving heart.  Carrie also defined the female hero of our age over a generation ago.  Her groundbreaking role as Princess Leia served as an inspiration of power and confidence for young girls everywhere. We will miss her dearly.” -Kathleen Kennedy

:(

My fifteen year old is pretty bummed about it too. She spanned generations, pretty amazing. RIP.

I think they will need to find a way to work in her departure in Episode 8 even if it wasn't planned that way.

He's been sick a while. They had him do the same thing they do for GPS and iPhone voices, just in case.

Full 3D scans of actors are pretty common. The Flash TV show, for example, doesn't use the actor in half the shots. You'd never notice which are really him and which are cgi.
Well, 2016 still has a few days left,  maybe James will check out as well....   effffff

Which movie are you referring to?  I thought her first adult movie role was in Shampoo of which her scenes were linked above and that was not her first line.

Just saw some recent interviews on TV  and she looked horrible. Seemed so troubled..never knew she was such an emotional wreck.

after a burst of gunfire from the Mystery Woman, Jake climbs to his feet, covered in mud from the tunnel floor]

Jake: It's good to see you, sweetheart.

Mystery Woman: You contemptible pig! I remained celibate for you. I stood at the back of a cathedral, waiting, in celibacy, for you, with three hundred friends and relatives in attendance. My uncle hired the best Romanian caterers in the state. To obtain the seven limousines for the wedding party, my father used up his last favor with Mad Pete Trullo. So for me, for my mother, my grandmother, my father, my uncle, and for the common good, I must now kill you, and your brother.

[Jake falls to his knees]

Jake: Oh, please, don't kill us! Please, please don't kill us! You know I love you baby. I wouldn't leave ya. It wasn't my fault!

Mystery Woman: You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.

Jake: No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

[Elwood covers his head in anticipation of more gunfire, Jake removes his sunglasses to make a wordless appeal, and the Mystery Woman visibly softens]

Mystery Woman: Oh, Jake... Jake, honey...

[Jake embraces the Mystery Woman and they kiss]

Jake: [to Elwood] Let's go.

[He drops the Mystery Woman and walks off]

Elwood: [to the Mystery Woman as he steps past her] Take it easy.
