When does a playere that was released on waivers on Wed. morning become available for p/up and how and where is that function in the program?

A player was released from another team Wed. for add/drops/waiver process. The website says that player is not available until next week. Our league rules say 24 hrs, but the software isn't allowing anyone to pick him up because it says he isn't available until next week.

I am trying to help the commissioner fix the settings.

Any help on where we can find this?

There's a game tonight. Since he didn't clear waivers prior to the week's first game being played, he now won't clear until the week's slate of games is over.

depends how often waivers are run..if just once a week, then player won't be available until following week. I run waivers Tuesday and Thursdays so any player dropped on Tuesdays waivers will be free on Friday(after Thursdays waiver run). If I didn't have waivers set for Thursday, then players dropped on Tuesday would not be available until following week.

Correct. For reference I just dropped Garcia. He will clear waivers on CBS Sunday ~1AM.

We changed waivers to run every day. (They were set to run T,W,TH) before. The commish put in the transaction, but the guy I dropped will be available on Sat. Morning now. Waiver period is 1 day. Shouldn't that be Friday? Something is screwy.

Also, it always worked fine in the last 9 years, and this year something messed up.

CBS is weird when it comes to their "1 Day" or "2 Day" time periods. It's not 24 hrs, it's one full calendar day. So if you drop a player at 12:01 am on wednesday, it's the same as dropping him 11:59 pm that same day. The 24 hour time clock will not start until midnight.

So if a player was dropped anytime on Wednesday, the waiver day will not start until midnight (essentially Thursday) and would clear waivers the next midnight (Friday) Since there is a game Thurs night, it locks waivers.

We had a similar issue with trades this week, we have a 2 day vote process, you can submit a trade until waivers clear on Wednesday, by then it's too late since you would need Thurs and Fri for the vote period. The commish will have to in manually and make the trades.

Morris was dropped early Wednesday morning by someone in my league. Waivers run Tuesdays and Thursdays in my league. I just put a claim in for him and it states it will be processed Friday morning. Apparently, tonight's game is not a factor.
