CBS Sportsline Down... AGAIN! (1 Viewer)

So CBS Sportsline just crashed and seems to be overloaded. I doubt things are going to get any better as kickoff approaches. We've used their site for at least a half dozen years and it's never been as bad as it's been this year.

torture.

 
Technical difficulties. Is anyone else experiencing this with sportsline? Awesome timing considering everyone in my league is trying to tweak their lineups.

 
i've always defended them but this is just ridiculous.

all 4 of my leagues are down. guess i'm not changing my mind on anything.

sportsline needs to seriously consider getting a new head of IT. this is pathetic.

EDIT - this board is a bit sluggish also...

I have been using Real Time Sports for 4 years and never had a problem. Their customer service is great and the site is easy to use. I highly recommend it for next season. :thumbup:

sorry, CBS is down

The website is either gonna cost me a game or keep me from blowing it myself. :thumbdown:

no doubt.who the heck cares if the site works thursday at 11am. it's 12:00pm to 1pm on Sunday that counts.all 4 leagues still down.

I have no idea who my starting flex is.... I can't get in to even see my lineup, let alone change it. It went down in mid-lineup change. :bag:

FWIW, FBG is kinda slow today too, but at least they are not down.

 
I am on Fox Sports for one league and although it is free, it is wretched. I never see my score until Tuesday morning. Our league will go elsewhere next year.

Yeah, MFL crashes like that all the time. :sarcasm: Just do a search of the million weekly "CBS is down threads..."
 
We are going to jump ship next season as well. Their performance is simply not improving and there doesn't appear to be a viable corrective action plan in sight.

This discussion board seems slow as well today-- perhaps it is time for this site's owners to increase bandwidth (or whatever technical things would need to occur) to offset the sluggish performance? An earlier poster said it best-- performance between noon and 1PM on gameday is what people rely on.

 
CBS sportsline is the pits..if you did a search here on it (down/crashes) it would take you a week to read it all..been doing this for years..get outta there next year not worth the headache! :banned:

 
it was down for 20 minutes (From 12:35-12:55) by far the most important half hour of the week.

CBS is a disaster. My longest running league is still on it, however.

My guess is we won't be, next year. I will NEVER pay for another CBS site in any way. Simply put, inexecusably horrible.

 
They have seemed better for my league this year. mThis is a DRAG though. i emailed my changes into my leage email box to get them in before time.

 
As an FYI, I just tried Sportline in IE and it seems to be kind of working (really slow though).

I am normally on firefox and it still isn't working at all in that browser.

 
ARGH!!!

I am so pissed with them as well.

Needed to make a last minute change, and now it's too late.

I'm in a very competitive keeper league and I am gonna be so freakin angry if I lose because of this.

 
My league is still down now a few minutes past kickoff. Further if I keep the CBS window open after getting the error message or just because it's taking forever to load, it freezes my IE and shuts it down.

My league on CBS will not be next year either.

In case you didn't know, there's no difference from how one browser connects to sites over the other if they are configured for connection similarly to begin with. However your Firefox settings may "time out" before your MSIE settings do which could give the illusion that one doesn't connect and the other connects slow. Reality is they both are equally as slow. However I couldn't find a setting in Firefox to increase the time of the timeout period.

Another valid point about Sportsline-- their site is seemingly only coded for IE. When the site is running, IE renders it well. I (and a vastly growing % of Internet users) use Firefox as my primary browser and the webmasters at Sportsline have not taken this into account as many of the pages (e.g., GameCenter) don't run well or at all under Firefox. Reason #32 to go elsewhere I guess...
 
I too have had enough with Sportsline, we also will be moving our league next year. Sportsline highest priced league with worst service.

 
they'll have plenty of server space next year when they're not doing the NFL's site

 
I haven't had one problem with Sportsline all year. I see all of these threads every week but it's worked perfectly fine for me 100% of the time. :confused:

 
Still down for me. When I get the actual CBS site up it says I have no fantasy teams. When I click on Fantasy it tells me I have no fantasy teams but to click here to see if they are hidden. Whatever that means.

Site freezes and closes down my IE when I click there.

Meanwhile, my MFL site, for half the price, is still updating itself every 90 seconds without fail, while there is talk going on in the chat room, and postings being made on the message board.

It's only be slow one time in my league, other than that it's worked great. I don't know what the people in here whining expect this message board to do about their problems with sportsline.
