cbssportsline waiver questions (1 Viewer)

Please explain the process. I am going to set it up to run Tueday night. Does that mean that you have to have your waivers in by tues at midnite and they are processed sometime by Wed morn? And if so when does the free for all begin?

Thanks

The free for all starts at around 1:40AM central time, IIRC. As soon as you see the transactions that have been queued get processed, it's free game.

So you just have to check back to see if they have been processed and then theres a free for all?

With waivers only ruinning Tueday night I see I have a choice how long a cut player stays on waivers(1,2, or 3 days). Is he available after that or can I keep him on waivers until the following Tues. waivers are ran?

Any other advice?

You should talk to your ocmmisioner they should know more......

CBS has options to change the waiver wire process for each indivicual league but

The way my league is set up a player who is dropped today would be on waivers for 1 day.. in other words if you drop a guy tonight wednesday he wont be able to be picked up till thursday.

Also The way CBS runs the waiver wire trades is they start proccesing the trades at 1am et and then as the computers proccess the trades its moves later. I live on the west coast and have had my waiver wire trade go through at 10pm one week and then at like midnight another week.

For my CBS league the waivers are processed around 1:20-2am. After that the dropped players aren't Free-for-all (FFA), but you can put in a waiver for them that will process the same time the next day. All other players are FFA. 2 hours before game time all free agents go FFA in my league, till the games start.

OK, He is on waivers for 1 day and can't be picked up until Thursday. My question is when on Thursday? Also how many times a week do your waivers run?

Can I get some clarity from the morning crowd? I am looking for a brief explanantion of the whole process. We would just be running waivers on Tuesday nihgts.

I don't do the commish stuff for our league any more, but I did for a while. Here's what I recall...

We had it set up so that all players after the weekend games were on waivers. You could put in a claim Tuesday and waivers would run early Wed. morning (1:00 a.m. ET) to process those claims.

Any unclaimed player would become a free agent, available for pickup at any time, first come first serve.

Any dropped player, at any time during the week was put on waivers for at least 24 hours. You could put in a claim for that player and the next time the waivers process ran, your claim would be processed (along with everyone else's).

To accomplish this, the waivers process was set to run every night during the week (Wed morning through Sun morning) all at around 1:00 a.m. Free Agents do not get processed in the waiver system.

If your dropped players immediately become free agents, then you probably don't need to run waivers all week, just Tuesday night.

Hope that helps.

I always wondered.....does the league commissioner have the ability to view who is trying to acquire who through the waiver wire prior to the actual running of the waivers and use this to his advantage?

only if it is set up for the commish to approve the add/drops - otherwise no.
