Anybody care to venture a guess as to what this really means?

Did Sapp's carries come as a fullback? Were they goal-line carries?

Why did he have more carries than Selvin Young?

Sapp's two carries in the first quarter were from the FB position and in the red zone. As a Henry owner, I was at first concerned that Sapp may be claiming the goalline carries, but Henry got the 3rd down carry of that drive after Sapp's first two. So I'd say it was inconclusive as to who will the bulk of red zone carries.

I didn't see his 3rd carry to know if this was from the FB spot or not, but Denver was backed-up to their own end zone, so I'd guess they were trying to pound out a few yards to get some room. Henry followed that one up with a 33 yard run.

Sapp: carry from Den 1, Buf 11, Buf 6 (last 2 consecutive plays) - all carries were in Q1

Young: carry from Buf 35, Buf 41 (first touch was in Q3), plus he had a reception from Den 32 and another target.

At this early point in the season one might conclude that Sapp is the goal back. In reality, if you try to get into Shanny's head to know what he really thinks, you only hear the sound of a blender.

Deep breaths. We're talking about a sample size of 2-3 carries here. Let's try not to jump to conclusions that you're going to later regret, okay? Selvin's still the #2 RB. When Henry got hurt and went out, Selvin was the guy who came in. He might not have gotten the carries, but he logged the snaps. Selvin also got 2 targets in the passing game (compared to 0 for Sapp), and when Henry got hurt on the 4th quarter game-winning drive, Young was the guy who logged those crucial crunch-time snaps (and made a HUGE heads-up play batting a fumble out of bounds rather than letting Buffalo recover).Also, in the future, check out the play-by-play.
