He's BLOOM for crying out loud. Don't question the master.Bloom, how did you know Cedric was going to have a Lis Franc injury?

IF he's back by week 13, he's got Min, Det Chi, Ten. Currently 22nd, 26th, 32nd, and 3rd in terms of points allowed to RBs. Not great matchups but GB is a pass first team anyway. So it's up to whether you feel Benson is talented enough to overcome those defenses and give you solid points over what you have for the playoffs. From Twitter
@Cedric_Benson Out of the boot now. Back to walking in normal shoes very gratifying!
Anyone have thoughts on whether it's worth picking him up for the stretch run? He was dropped in many leagues.
He's supposed to be back week 14Any updates on Benson - planning on using Alex Green during Peterson's bye next week.
In redraft it's almost not worth adding him. Week 15 you won't start him because it's his first game back and, to make matters worse, GB plays Chicago. Week 16 Benson gets the Titans, who are generous to RBs, but it still would take some guts to start him - even as a flex - in your championship game. I guess you could sign him as depth in case you lose an RB to injury but hopefully you're not that thin at that point. And you likely wouldn't want to sign him that soon because roster spots are at a premium for good backups or matchup plays.Timetable info here - sounds like Benson is now shooting for being back week 15 against the Bears, although it is "possible" he might be ready for week 14 against the Lions. Obviously, no one wants to be starting him his first game back against the Bears. That leaves week 16 against the Titans, if all goes well. Sounds like a big gamble.http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3139/cedric-benson
The bad thing is it's the playoffs; there's no time to see how the Packers will use him upon his return. Will he immediately get back most of the carries? Probably not, especially in week 15. Maybe in week 16 Starks and Green get pushed out of the picture but but the championship game isn't time to take risks.Benson had 15 points in PPR in the first game against the Bears. The Titans should be a dream matchup for the Packers' running game. At worst, a healthy Benson is a very viable RB3 those two weeks. If you're in a league which goes into Week 17 his value goes up. There's definitely risk involved with Benson because we don't know how healthy he'll be when he returns but I think he's worth if you need some RB depth or you're looking for some potential help the final 2-3 weeks of the season depending on your league format.
If he's healthy I'd expect Benson to regain his starting job. He looked much better than Starks and Green have so far this season. That could change between now and when he returns but assuming Starks continues to be James Starks (Green's a non-factor at this point) then I would be surprised if Benson wasn't the lead back upon his return. Those will also be critical games (especially the Chicago one) so I would assume the Packers would want their best players on the field. The bad thing is it's the playoffs; there's no time to see how the Packers will use him upon his return. He's tartgeting the Bears game for a return in week 15. I guess if he came back and showed something that week I'd feel confident enough to plug him into week 16 Super Bowl week. However more than likely he will be eased back into the lineup week 15 after such a long time off and probably week 16 as well.Playoffs are 4 weeks away for most of us. RB depth is likely to be the biggest issue and there is a lot of football to be played. People who scoff at a potential week 14-15-16 starter on playoff caliber team now are going to be kicking themselves later. It does depend on your RB situation and roster sizes. In one of my 3 leagues, Benson is a fit.
He's an able body available (if he is able). So I put him on the bench. He would be a desperation play if any of my starters suddenly got hurt but he's probably better than some of the backups. If the surgery is true then he's another drop guy. No worries.Eh. Only way I'd play him is if I was in desperation mode and needed RB help. Guess it depends on your roster situation.
My assertion was I didn't think he'd be healthy enough to make an impact. Come back in week 15 and then as you state, if your in RB trouble week 16, you throw him out there and pray. He's an able body available (if he is able). So I put him on the bench.
