I just read in Sporting News last week that Leon Washington is considered weak between the tackles. Since we have seen scat backs go for 100 yards before and disappear, are we hearing that Houston is still in line for some carries when he returns from injury?

Just looking for a last-roster spot guy right now hoping for lightning strikes.

Jets homers - responses helpful if you have heard anything.

I am a Houston owner in a dynasty bit am not a Jets homer although I have been following his progress (or lack thereof) for awhile. My 2 cents are that with the emergence of Barlow and Washington his chances are slipping away. I think the new coaching staff drafted Washington and traded for Barlow after it appeared that Martin would not be coming back - this should not be overlooked because it shows the lack of confidence they seem to have in him - No matter what they may say in public.

:goodposting: Of the four HB's on that roster, Houston is the only one not acquired under Mangini. That doesn't bode well for Houston. I too have him in dynasty and will hold onto him with the hope that he's traded somewhere where he'll get a legit shot to start.

Blaylock isn't a Mangini guy.

Is Blaylock even playing anymore?

Derrick Blaylock was inactive this week instead, the Jets activated 6-1, 265-pound FB James Hodgins and

he has not had a carry since week 2. DB is a non factor.

IMO when he is heathy he has as good of a chance as anyone. Washington had a great game but i wouldnt crown him. He is who they thought he was... :bye: D Green,Former NFL Coach

:bag:

You're right. I'd forgotten they picked him up last year.

So now it is 3 weeks later...

Is Houston going to get a chance to challenge for the starting job again this year? Is he worth rostering?

He looked like their best RB before he got hurt but that was a little while ago. No one else has really impressed much since then.

Just askin'

They've got a good thing going with a Leon/Barlow combo, so Houston is probably on the outside looking in for the forseeable future. That said, Barlow has been known to disappoint in the past, so if he gets hurt or starts to really struggle, that could open the door for Houston.I have to say, however, that Barlow has impressed me. I was never a big fan of him, but he's very solid in a limited, power-back role. ETA: the fact that the OL is playing lights-out doesn't hurt either.

I disagree with this.. Washington has played very well in a couple of games and Barlow has been good in his role.
