Strained vocal chords?

From pissing and moaning al the time.
Why do people hate Johnson so much? I've always been fairly entertained by him.
I like Chad the guy and from an entertainment standpoint. I also own CJ.However, if I was his team-mate my opinion changes fast. His act is getting old, just my 0.02.
Why is there such a assumption that he is a god awful teamate?? I've never heard a teammate talk bad about him, never had a controversey between him and his QB or other Wrs.
I love CJ...just acquired him in a trade to pair w/ Carson. BUT, the two of them have been yapping at each other the past couple of games, and it seems to me that all 4 of Carson's INTs the past 2 games have come w/ CJ as the target. It seems there is at least some discord between the two. I sure as heck hope they resolve things soon--my fantasy football life depends on it.
So he is a bad teammate because in one game after a INT when Johnson ran the wrong route they were getting animated with each other on the sideline. Got it, I suppose that article that came out when he apologized makes him a crappy teammate too.No one has yet posted any reliable info that Johnson is this god awful teammate.
I didn't make the statment that CJ is a "bad" team mate... I was just addressing the assertion made regarding the lack of controversy between he & Carson...
what controversy?? They got into it a little bit on the sidelines, then Johnson apologized about it later
Boy, you are an argumentative cuss, aren't you? :own3d: So it'd only be a controversy if they were throwing haymakers at each other? Two games i a row Carson was visibly/clearly upset at CJ; his demeanor on the field was evident, then the scene on the sideline @ KC w/ CJ storming away fro Marvin. I guess we just have different ideas of what "controversy" means; I just don't see it as a "good" or even nuetral thing when a QB & his #1 WR are not on the same page & clearly pi$$ed @ each other.

I dont hate Johnson, he's a talent. When your team is not doing well celebrations need to be put on hold. I wish Chad would concentrait more on his game and less on the end zone party. TJ is the number one WR in CINCY and should finish well ahead of Johnson this year. The good and bad about Chad is he will give you one or two blow up games a year. TJ gives you consistant steady performance, I find that to be of more value to his team and to fantasy leaguers. They really need to get Henry back.

No one posted any reliable info that Johnson is a good teammate either.Like I said, perception is reality. He created the perception that he is a selfish teammate so that is the reality he must live with.ETA: Prepared statement apologies after the fact mean very little.
I've heard TJ Houshmenzadeh and Carson Palmer both talk about Chad and say things such as "He is a great teammate" "He is a hard worker, He is a perfectionist" "I love Chad, he is my friend". Try watching NFLN sometime, you'll see comments by teammates all the time and you'll also see how much everyone around the league loves Chad, people such as Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, Leigh Bodden, DeAngelo Hall and Bill Belicheck right off the top of my head. I honestly don't think there is a player out there who is liked more than Chad Johnson.
I am trying to think if I have ever heard anyone ever say anything other than these type of statements to the media about a teammate.Kris Jenkins made some hard comments about Warren Sapp but they aren't teammates Bottom line is we are fed what the media give us and they are fed the party line from the team. No one who knows is talking, and the one guy who may have was cut from the team, which was a message to the whistle blowers not to the guys causing the problems. My feeling is everyone loves his talent and everyone is tired of his attitude. I also think he is going to shut his pie hole for the rest of the season, or at least until they get back into the playoff hunt, and the team will perform better.

:lmao: only sometimes.......I guess when I say controversy, is even if there are some problems they seem to be staying in the clubhouse where it belongs. Not blowing up in the media.

Probably because he's more interested in things being about himself than his team.
Do yourself a favor and look into when he visited Africa in the offseason. On the field the guy is a clown and likes to have more fun than anyone. Off the field he is actually a pretty standup guy. How many times have you heard his name mentioned in arrests???Get over the hate for Chad because he shreds your team and then pompously dances about it....I look forward to seeing what he will do this weekend vs. my boys in green!
CJ is definitely a different person off the field. I saw an interview a couple of years ago (after he was making big money) and he said he still drives his mid 80's Olds Cutlass because it reminds him where he came from.

He drives that home to his multi-million dollar home and wears gold plated diapers...

Chad Johnson has already stopped his end zone celebrations until the team is .500 (already mentioned in this thread once)Chad is concentrating solely on his game. And its Chad's threat to blow up that allows TJ to have all those good games. No CJ and TJ's numbers would nosedive.

You have got to be kidding? What about all of the times guys are asked about their teammate and they say "no comment" or "we have a working relationship". THAT is code for I don't like the guy.

Saying "he's a good teammate" often means exactly that. Especially when you hear it time and time and time again about the same guy. Chad hangs out with Carson & TJ outside of games and practices. A couple of years ago they all three went to an Indy game to watch the Colts offense and try to learn from it.

Chad is not the problem on the Bengals. Marvin is.

I thought that was TJ?

Not kidding at all and I can't think of any "no comments" or "we have a working relationship." statements either.I am not saying they don't happen but would you support this with at least one example?

The vast, vast majority of what we hear is canned for the media. The players don't tell them what really goes on because the ones do get punished.

I think this is an unfair assessment. TJ has been improving every year and he may have equaled or surpassed Chad, his stats would suggest he has surpassed him. Sometimes it takes guys longer to mature physically and mentally. Chad could use a little help on the latter.

So your "feelings" on a player are better than anyone in the media? I agree that all we get alot of canned stuff from the media, but you still don't here anything bad about Johnson being a teammate. Just because you don't like him, and don't think you would get along with him on a team, the majority of the Bengals seem to disagree.

I dont care who likes the guy around here, can anyone tell me what really matters? Did he practice on Friday?
10/20/07 08:01 AMTHE NEWSAs expected, Chad Johnson returned to practice Friday after skipping Thursday's session to rest a sore ankle. Our ViewHe's listed as probable for Sunday's game and will start, barring a setback.this is from my league news wiremike

My point is that my feelings are just as valid as anything you read in the media (i.e. not at all).

I have to say, I wasn't to impressed with his interview with Keyshan. I like CJ, but his answers in that interview were just horrible. He seems totally out of touch with the concept of "team" in that piece.
