Not once, but TWICE he asked that.Kenny had no answer"That's it?"
It's quite possible he didn't. CJ isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.that was just ####ing bizarre. almost like CJ didn't really understand most of the questions or what Lewis' comments meant.![]()
Seriously. Talk about the most useless thread I've ever seen. "that was great""that sucked""did you hear that"Can somebody please summarize??

I think it was a bit encouraging for Bengals fans, relatively speaking. He was given every opportunity to say he was gonna sit out, and raise more heck, and he said he was gonna work as hard as ever.It was awkward for the ESPN interviewer... not for Chad. The guy was trying to stir up ####, Chad was either squashing it or simply acknowledging and letting it go. ESPN guy: "coach says this about you, what do you think about that"Chad: "ok"ESPN guy: "what is your reaction to that"Chad: "that is my reaction.... 'OK'"ESPN guy:Rinse repeat, each time ESPN guy trying to play up the drama, each time Chad answering simply and shortly.ESPN wanted drama, Chad was there to make a very clear and concise point. He made his point, ESPN lost out on the drama.

No clue how that's the way you interpreted it, interesting that I listened a second time to see where you're coming from but still haven't a clue.that was just ####ing bizarre. almost like CJ didn't really understand most of the questions or what Lewis' comments meant.![]()
Word!!!!#### ESPN. They are clowns.
Brian Kenny, who is a smug tool.Who was the interviewer?
Chad said he's gonna be the next Reche Caldwell?-QG
I am questioning your intelligence now that you didn't realized that was a joke.I really start to question his intelligence now. Did you hear his answer on the economy when he was on NFL Network? "Just print more money" I loved that one.
It's nothing but a diversionary tactic so people won't focus on the fact that he's the 2nd-best receiver on his own team.it seems like chad is on tv doing an interview every night lately. And its all the same re-hashed garbage. I love Chad as a player, but i'm tired of seeing his face at this point and wish the Bengals would either trade him or Chad would just realize that they're not going to trade him and shut his mouth already.
"Stink" should try playing for the Bengals for a few years instead of a perennial Superbowl contender. It has to be hard putting in the work every year only to fail once again due to situations out of your control.Schlereth called it accurately after the interviewed was aired.Chad is all about Chad, not the Bengals. He will never be on a championship team.
A fair point. I don't see too many people round here pimping the Bengals and Marvin Lewis, but god forbid a player say the exact same thing."Stink" should try playing for the Bengals for a few years instead of a perennial Superbowl contender. He had plenty of that "fail" in his hands this past season. Running wrong routes. Dropping routine passes. Falling to the ground for fear of getting hit. Stepping out of bounds a couple yards short of a 1st down on 4th and 14 with the season on the line. Dropped a game winning TD in the endzone with no contact. If Chad wants to win, Chad can focus on Chad's screwups. Not that there isn't stuff out of his control, but there was plenty this year alone that he could have done that would have made the difference. So now a guy that was running wrong routes and not on the same page as his QB pretty much all season is sitting out spring camps when you could be getting some reps in? Yep, sounds like all he is worried about is winning.Jedimaster21 said:"Stink" should try playing for the Bengals for a few years instead of a perennial Superbowl contender. You must be speaking of the past couple Fantasy Football years that TJ has had, otherwise I think you're way off. CJ stock without TJ is not effected, TJ without CJ is average in the NFL at best.Raider Nation said:It's nothing but a diversionary tactic so people won't focus on the fact that he's the 2nd-best receiver on his own team.Loopdog said:it seems like chad is on tv doing an interview every night lately. TJ is a slightly more talented Alvin Harper (ala Michael Irvin).I agree with you.You must be speaking of the past couple Fantasy Football years that TJ has had, otherwise I think you're way off. He's just desperately trying to force his way out of Cinci right now, and he'll take an interview anytime, anywhere, with anyone on any show to do it. He's not only throwing that team under the bus, he's driving the bus up a volcano into a pit of hot molten lava. There are 3 weeks until the draft. And if he's going to be moved, it will more than likely come in the next 3 weeks. He knows this. He's emphasizing that he'll continue to be a hard-working player and a productive player. But he obviously has no respect for the head coach or organization at this stage, and he just wants out. And my best guess is that they'll buckle and find somewhere to move him. I understand there's a cap hit involved. But the 'hit' involved retaining a vocal player who doesnt want to be there would have greater overall team implications. Ive really wanted the Bengals to hold strong in this situation and not move him. At this point, I hope if they can find a way to get a #1 for him, they just go ahead and do it. He'll be a distraction all season long.Loopdog said:Like I said, love Chad the player but Chad the offseason PITA i have had about enough of in 2008.so true. I absolutely love watching Chad play (even the celebrations) but I dunno WTF he's trying to do right now. That said, ESPN can SUCK IT. Gotta love anytime they look foolish (which is 95% of the time).

I think you'd be right about that, and I think San Diego's position in the 1st round (27) would make it sensible to move that pick for 85. Make that call and get those wheels in motion. Nah, they spent a 2nd for Chambers last year and a 1st for Davis in the draft last year. Returning this year they will have Floyd, VJax, Chambers, Davis and Osgood (ST's). It's more likely that SD deals down to pick up more draft picks since I don't think they pick until the 4th (after their 1st rounder).I think he'd be a great fit for San Diego. He's just desperately trying to force his way out of Cinci right now, and he'll take an interview anytime, anywhere, with anyone on any show to do it. Johnson made it clear that he's no longer worried about anyone's perception of him, whether it be the organization, fans, media, whomever. He doesnt care if anyone has 'affection' for him right now or not. He's beyond that point. He's thinking about only himself and his personal happiness. He's no longer worried about making anyone other than himself. And I dont say this to suggest it as necessarily a negative thing. But he was just being pretty frank about how his current 'perception' or 'image' are just non-factors.I heard part of this interview. The first question was asking for 85's reaction to Lewis saying, "We are prepared to move on without Chad if he is not at the minicamps." (I'm paraphrasing here). Chad said OK, interviewer asked for a clarification of his reaction and he said OK again. But the second question. Something about the organization having Affection for Chad and Chad asked him to repeat the word Affection and he sorta laughed. Can someone elaborate more on what the question was and Chad's reaction?
