Didn't see the game but I assume Bowe did zippo b/c of Champ? If so, is Fitz pretty much doomed to fail this week? Not even he can overcome the Skelton/Champ combo?

They force so many targets at Fitz I don't expect a shutout, but something like 4-5 catches and 50 yds seems the most likely result here.

Fitz >>> Bowe. Just saying. I don't think Fitz has a great day, but 5-65-1 would not come as a suprise either.

He seems to be a very good receiver but don't kid yourself into thinking he didn't benefit from having a HOF quarterback slinging him the rock these past two seasons. Gonna be tough sledding for Fitz until the QB situation gets cleaned up in AZ.

I can see Fitz getting forced the ball and ending with 4 for 36 or something like that. You are correct in thinking that Skelton + Champ = a bad day for Fitz. Sure, he could break a long one, but I think it also depends on how Breaston plays. If he is getting open and doing well, why even bother forcing it to Fitz?

Side note: Looking back on the Finnegan/AJ fight, I think one thing that was lost was that Finnegan held AJ to something like 59 yards. Many of the talking heads giggled about it saying that "he couldn't even shut him down, he had 9 catches", and that is true. But that means a lot more in fantasy than it did on the field.

I bring this up, because Fitz may have a "decent" day fantasy-wise in PPRs, but I just can't see him lighting it up or even going for 5-75 and a TD.

I'm actually kinda liking the matchup. I agree with the thought of Skelton+Champ=not great for Fitz and my first thought was "well, I'll hope for 3-4 catches and one of those is a short jump ball in the End zone to save the day".

But, the more I thought about it, I expect the Broncos to handle the Cards pretty easily so maybe Fitz gets that plus some garbage time stats and has a decent fantasy day. Overall, when I have watched this year, Fitz is LEAST productive when the game is actually in the balance. He has had at least two games where he has scored garbage TDs that helped the bottom line.

Heck, its the playoffs and I don't care how he gets it ..Just get it Fitz!

really nervous about this matchup but i feel like i can't bench him. everything points to him laying an egg but he is still fitz. it helps that i don't really have a viable replacement (next best would be maurice morris or earl bennett). any other fitz owners out there sweating this one out? are you playing him or benching him?

I was going to bench him for Jacoby Ford until I found out how windy it's gonna be in Jax today. Gonna roll with Fitz now I think. He skipped practice on Friday to attend his grandfather's funeral. Hopefully it'll be extra motivation for Fitz to have a big day.

I think I'm starting him over Giants Steve Smith, Ford, and Armstrong. I'd rather lose with my big guns in my lineup.

Plus, as previous poster said, not hard to believe a new/green QB will just lock on to his #1 target and not read all his other progressions. And if the game gets out of hand, garbage points are just as nice as any other.

I am sitting Fitz for the first time this year. He has no QB. After watching last weeks game I dont care who is covering him. If Champ is covering him he may get a 0 today. I suppose he could get lucky and have Champ doze off due to boredom and have a nice pass from the QB. I have no faith that those two things can happen at the same time though.

I benched him. He went 4/61 last week against Stl. It was not his fault, he just has no QB throwing a good ball to him. It is heart breaking to watch. The week prior he went 4/37 against the 49rs. The freaking 49rs!!!!!!!!!!

I'm benching him for Ford. The last and only time I benched him this year was the week he had 2 TDs, but it's hard to imagine that happening today. We get double points for TDs over 50 yards and I was a Gore owner, so I need a spark in my lineup this week to get to the next round. I don't see Fitz providing that, but who knows. There's not much, if any, film on Skelton and crazier things have happened, but I'm rolling the dice on Ford breaking another long one.

Benching him for Sidney rice at this time. Having second thoughts though.
doing this too. not putting week one of the playoffs in the hands of the rookie QB.sure, he might get one of those trash time late scores, but I'm sure what's left of the DEN D will double or triple fitz. agree breaston might be a much better play.

Deciding between Nicks, Tampa Mike and Fitz (current order in my mind). As a refresher, does Champ stay on one guy all day regardless of where they line up or is he on one side of the field? If it's the former, think Fitz is riding pine.

I have been wrong many times in the past but I decided to sit Fitz last week. That was before I even knew who they were playing. If you have not seen those games there is no way to tell you how bad the QB situation is for that team.* I would start Tampa Mike
