**Chargers at Panthers** (+5.5, 39) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

I like the upset. Bolts made it look a little easy last week vs LVR and never had to hit the gas.
Cross country, early start time, maybe the Panthers aren't quite as bad as they looked in New Orleans last week

I like Ladd McConkey to build on Week 1 and cross the 50 yard mark this week or at least make a little more noise vs Carolina.
He would be a decent sleeper on your Sunday DFS tickets
 
Another home dog,they're barking all over the place this week.
Chargers won at home last week for Jimmy H.
Panthers looked as bad or worse than last year on the road.
Home opener for Panthers.
Long trip east for San Die...er I mean L.A.
Gotta give the edge to the visitors here

Ladd McConkey came so close to my DFS ticket this morning, was pretty reasonable on DK
Went Brian Thomas instead, see how that works out
He looks like a potential early Rookie star, wait until they have to match scores

Just got to this thread. Bold prediction here that will turn out to be very wrong.
 
Panthers will have the #1 overall in 2025.

Is there any shred of doubt about that?

And they will take a QB.

I don't even know if it's Bryce's fault.. Their next QB will suffer the same fait.

I get Bryce makes some bad decisions, but as soon as he snaps the ball, he has to abandon the pocket cause the protection fades.

Rhule went 11-27, WIlks 6-6 seems like a miracle
Reich 1-10, Tabor 1-5
Canales now 0-2

19-50 over this stretch, 13-44 minus Wilks
Incredible run and somehow lost one of their 1st Round selections, 1st overall pick so they could draft the diminutive Bryce Young
As early as next Draft they need to think about taking another arm
Cam Ward seems to never come up when discussing QBs in the Draft '25, my gut tells me he's going to be on a short list of them, ones discussed being taken Top 5-10 overall.

Carolins is terrible. I thought for sure they would put up a fierce fight vs the Bolts.
Credit to Harbaugh, I had no faith they would be this good this early

-I thought the Raiders were far below average and didn't give the Bolts a lot of credit but after this week's performance vs the Ravens on the road, Harbaugh is showing what fundamental football can look like and what just simple straight forward hat on hat football can look like. He's out coaching his opponents thus far. And sure we can say the Panthers are a bottom dweller right now but the Chargers still flew cross country for a 1:00 start time and completely stifled anything the Panthers were trying to do

They are impressive and they are not even playing on all cylinders yet. Herbert has not been asked to do a whole lot so far but when called upon he delivers. Ekeler might have been more dual threat but the running game so far has been a lot more consistent and takes all the pressure off Herbert. Both sides of the OL/DL are playing at a high level and I don't know many od the FL-Front 7 outside of Bosa, some of that must be coaching. Harbaugh invested in the OL, seems to be paying dividends so far.

Not retaining Wilks after that run was one of the dumbest things I've seen. That was a really bad team that still had a good shot at the playoffs if they didn't keep getting injured on the back-end. They had an identify based off of strong defense and power running. Then they draft Young and expect him to run Reich's passing system out of the gate. Dumb.

Hey man.

I don't know how to read the Raiders yet either, so it's hard to gauge what week 1 meant. I know the Raiders have a very good defense, and have some good skill players on offense. I don't believe in Minshew, and he had a lot to do with the Chargers winning week 1. That's not going to to change for the Raiders, they'll live or die with him, this week he did enough to not lose.

For the Chargers, I'm still in a bit of wait and see mode. They'll be tested for real these next 2 weeks, I think after that we'll have a pretty solid measure of what they are this year. Herbert hasn't played well the first two games, particularly this one yesterday - that was one of the worst performances I've seen from him as a Charger. Right now I'm blaming it on not playing since last November basically due to injuries, and thus being physically and mentally rusty. It's also evident the WR/TE corps is significantly below average. That's going to be an all year problem. Q having a good game helps, if he can step up all year that would be big, so Herbert would have at least him and McConkey winning routes a bit out there. But guys just haven't been getting open much so far, and I don't know how much that changes if/when Chark is healthy.

All that said, there's already improvements over last season. The defense is playing much better, they have a scheme that seems to work for the personnel, which wasn't the case with Braino Staley. They also improved the personnel in subtle ways, which is a credit to Hortiz. For instance, the picked up Molden in a trade a few weeks back, and there he was having an impact filling in for the injured Gilman at safety.

The jury's still out on the interior O line, they really struggled in the 1st half against the Raiders, but came together in the 2nd half, and had a solid day yesterday. The Ts are playing well.

STs haven't been all they could be yet, they need to sharpen up, I think they will.

It's a soft 2-0, but it's still nice to be at 2-0, with a decent amount of room to improve.

We read it the same way but I still want to tip the hat and especially to the die hard fans around here that gut it out thru thick n thin
Harbaugh is giving Chargers' fans hope and that can be such a joyous feeling when a new coach takes over and proves they can handle things

Yeah, probably not this year, but I think next year, winning the division is no longer going to be a gimmie for the Chiefs given the trajectory of the Raiders and Chargers.
