I don't have Battle or Matthews rostered. I know that Battle has been getting a little playing time, but not really enough to make me wade into a thread about him unless I'm dying for RB help (which I'm not). However, if Battle is now starting above Matthews, that all of a sudden makes Battle interesting, and is news that I otherwise would have missed.

So we need three threads on the 1st page basically saying the same thing so lazy people can get their info.Cool.

Actually we do. I don't follow the Battle threads as they have "jumped the shark" long ago and seem to humor a subset of the FFA more than the SP, which is fine but not for me. I don't follow Ryan Mathews cuz I purposely avoided him for his injury history and always felt he was overvalued. But if not for the headline of the OP, it's news that would have passed me by. Certainly newsworthy as a separate thread as a topic of the day. Interesting to me to see a division rival bench their star RB starter they were building around.

It's not newsworthy because he started the game LAST week and that is the only reason he was listed on the depth chart this week.Funny that people claim to "not care" about Mathews or Battle but will open and post in a thread simply b/c the title is provocative and ignoring the fact that there is no actual news here other than the fact that Chargers.com updated the depth chart based on who started a game LAST week.

Yeah, I can't figure out why people would do that on the day of, or the day before waivers when Battle is likely to be on the wire in most leagues. Hmmmmmmm!

From the sound of it ... Sounds like a Jacobs & Bradshaw situation but ...Mathews is more talent than Bradshaw and Jacobs is more talented than Battle so it will be less distinct.If I was a Mathews owner I would only worry about the short term affect of this ... as long Mathews stays healthy he will get 65 - 70 % It's better than sharing with that little fat guy from last year.

The Saints are improving, but the defense is still getting gashed by the run game. I would say start both Mathews and Battle, but I am wondering if Mathews isn't the one who takes off with a big week. The Saints have trouble on the edges the most, their lack of LBer quality and speed at the DEs is a killer, that seems to favor Mathews to me.
