Chargers WR's in 2012? (1 Viewer)

For those of us in keeper/dynasty leagues, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Chargers WR group looking ahead to 2012. Will VJax be back or is he done in San Diego as Deion Sanders suggested the other night? Malcom Floyd has nice complementary skills - but can he ever be trusted to stay healthy? Vincent Brown introduced himself to the country the other night, is he for real or just another case of a mini explosion like an Ajirotutu? How will this puzzle come together for 2012?

Just my opinion but I think Brown > Ajirotutu. That's not saying he's going to be a pro-bowler but he has a much higher probability of ending up a starting caliber WR during his career.Floyd is easily a starting caliber WR but he'll continue to get dinged up from time to time.I'm not sure what the market conditions will be for VJax. Like I said in all those threads last year, he's a very good WR but he's certainly not the great WR people were trying to make him out to be last year when every SD loss was because they didn't have VJax according to plenty of people on this board. I doubt he gets franchised again. I doubt any team gives him the Brandon Marshall contract he was looking for. The only constant is VJax and his representation has completely misunderstood his bargaining position with the NFL for his services over the past several years. Maybe that continues and he refuses to play unless someone gives him Marshall money. Who knows? He already chose to cost himself millions of $'s so it wouldn't be the first time he made a completely irrational decision.

What are the percentage odds of VJax returning to SD next season?

What are the percentage odds of Floyd being a top 2 WR in SD next season?

What are the percentage odds of Vincent Brown being a top 2 WR in SD next season?

Obviously none of us has a crystal ball to know for sure, but I'm curious to hear the opinions of those that follow that situation closer than I do.

I think it's too soon to tell on Brown and Jackson. Floyd would be brought back as a bargain if they can't find someone else to take his spot (including Brown) as sort of a last resort. I wouldn't make long term dynasty plans based on Floyd being a Charger.

40%People said Gates would NEVER sign with SD again after the contract dispute when Gates had very little options and didn't realize it(or at least his agent didn't). Sometime a player realizes there are a lot of places in the league that could be a whole lot worse. I would guess some team falls in love VJax and overpays him(see MIA/Marshall) but it's less certain he leaves than most people think. He's not the world beater a lot of people think he is, or at least thought he was. Still, you might get a deal from someone that's absolutely frustrated because they believed he was some sort of 1500/15 guy and you could count on consistent production.... I don't think he's ever been that guy and never will be that guy.99%He's already signed though next season and there's never been any animosity between Floyd and the front office. When a restricted FA he signed his tender without much hesitation. He chose to stay in SD despite interest from other teams. When he's healthy there is less separating Floyd from VJax than most people think as was shown at the start of last year. He had very similar production as VJax as the #1 receiver despite people chanting the mantra, "He isn't a #1 WR!". SD doesn't generally go out and get starting WR's. Chambers/McCardell/Boston/Conway are the only exceptions I can think of over the past 30 years. I guess they went out and got Chandler but that was a result of losing John Jefferson. Anyway, rebuilding the line is a bigger area of concern if they have Gates/Floyd/Brown locked up with the potential to draft another or pick up another complimentary receiver IF VJax finds his golden ticket and leaves. There are too many other areas of need to spend a great deal of resources at WR imo.55%If VJax leaves then Brown is by far the most logical guy to take his place in the starting lineup. Too early to tell with him but he's shown flashes and was highly thought of coming into the league. It's still early in his career to count on production from him on a week to week basis but I think he would be given the opportunity to sink or swim. A possible regime change is always dangerous for a young/developing player that the new people didn't draft but in this case his potential dwarfs any of the WR's left on the roster after VJax/Floyd. He has a head start building a rapport with Rivers over any new receiver brought in even if they are close in terms of talent.
