From the article posted most recently "Marinelli said wide receiver Mike Williams was a little overweight. He said Charles Rogers was the No. 2 receiver."i bet he doesn't even start the season as #2-orphanI'll say it again, if Bradford ends up the #2 all year I'll be shocked.
Even if starts, he'll break his collarbone like a twig. Talk about fools gold.I was offered a late 3rd rd pick in a full dynasty 12 team league. I passed. I'm buying into the Martzzzzzz system here and hoping for the best. Hey, no bad news is good news for Rogers.

I agree with this. I personally won't waste any picks on Bradford. As a Lions fan, I truly hope Rogers turns the corner and finally lives up to his draft billing. There's no doubting his talent. Like EBF said, he was my #1 player in that rookie class as well. The guy could be a great value if he just dedicates himself and turns that vast potential (even partially) into reality on the field.I'm not going to get ahead of myself though. One practice at a time, or as Rogers probably is more familiar with... One day at a time. From the article posted most recently "Marinelli said wide receiver Mike Williams was a little overweight. Don't sleep on this guy. He is very low risk right now, and is SERIOUSLY talented.Charles Rogers didn't flinch when asked if this was a make or break year for him.
"You can say it in that way," he said.
He intends to make it.
His first three NFL seasons were well-documented disappointments -- broken collarbone, another broken collarbone, a four-game suspension for substance abuse, three more games out of uniform.
Not to mention a grievance filed by the Lions seeking $10.184 million of the $14.4-million signing bonus he received as the second pick of the 2003 NFL draft.
But after the first practice of training camp Friday, he had a smile. He intends to overcome all of that and become the star wide receiver he was expected to be out of Saginaw and Michigan State.
"Just adversity, man," Rogers said. "That's just part of life's trials and tribulations. I guess my background, where I came from, probably made me strong in that situation.
"A lot of people probably would have cracked, but I'm still here, I'm still fighting the fight, and I'm going to win."
Rogers said he had grown up and learned to take responsibility for his actions, while playing down some of the things he had done.
Asked if he had control of his life, he told reporters: "Yeah, I've got control of my life. Probably wasn't doing nothing what you all was doing when you all was 24, 25 years old. Yeah, I've been to college. Some of you all did Jager bombs and all that, too. So I ain't going to say too much."
Rogers said he felt better about his situation with the team and his physical condition than he had in a long time. He said he was working hard, learning the offense and "giving nothing for nobody to talk about."
Does he have a fresh start with the Lions' new coaching staff? Rogers said he had talked with the coaches, including head coach Rod Marinelli, and everything was positive -- though he was cautiously optimistic.
"We'll see when I'm on the field more than anything," Rogers said. "Do I believe what they told me? Yeah. But I'll really believe it when I'm on the field."
Rogers said he played at different weights in the past. Last season he was at about 210 pounds. Now he's down to about 195, and he thinks that has helped him rediscover the speed he displayed as a Spartan.
"You only can do what you're told to do," Rogers said. "But right now, I feel good. I think my speed is there, and I'm ready to make some plays."
Rogers grew more comfortable with the offense as the off-season progressed.
"I think it's an opportunity for me to go deep, for me to get back into the Michigan State days and have fun," Rogers said.
Like Lions president Matt Millen, quarterback Jon Kitna praised Rogers' progress.
"He's been our most improved receiver throughout the spring," Kitna said. "He was playing at a high level the last four or five weeks we were in practice. Every day he was doing something that caught your eye on film.
"And so I think the expectation level for him and our team has been raised to a point where now we know what he can do and it's expected of him every day, and he's stepped up to that challenge."
After running with the third team during the last minicamp, Rogers ran with the second team during team drills Friday. He also rotated in with the first team at times during passing drills."It's a positive sign," Rogers said. "I've got on my construction hat. I'm like one of the workers on the assembly line. So I'm just working, man, doing whatever it takes for me to get back into the rotation."
Rogers wants to run with the first team full-time again.
"As long as I come out here and work and catch the ball and show my work ethic and play better than the guy in front of me, I don't feel like they can hold me back from that," Rogers said.
Asked if he would like to get into a position where people argued whether he or Roy Williams was the Lions' best receiver, Rogers said: "It is going to be an argument. No doubt about it."
hmmm, coming from UofM fan?Well, I saw my friend yesterday and he stated that rogers was at his worst this past week. Just going through the motions, dropping everything in sight. At the last 2 practices they had him as the #6 WR if you can believe that. Also mentioned the coach he knows said "I just can`t figure Rogers out" No consistancy at all. I really think Rogers needs to be cut and start over to wake him up, but maybe we have a David Terrell in the making.

Don't underestimate Corey Bradford. He has such blazing speed that the secondary doesn't seem to be much of a deterent in him getting to the spot in his route where he's going to drop the pass.
I would think the Eagles would give him a shot, especially with Moronwheg in the fold. Its not like Rogers loses value if the Lions cut him ...The Falcons would be all over him in alomst no time ...

2) M Williams would be a non-factor
3) Rogers would not be with the team when the season began.
Of course, I was laughed at by nearly everybody. But those guys are #1 picks, and Bradford's a bum!
I chastised the staff for having Rogers and M Williams plastered all over the top 60 in some threads too, listing them even as high as the 20s and 30s.
And, I've said in more than one place that Bradford can go as high as 55-800-6 this year.
Of course I'll still be laughed at for that because people are narrow minded. Until it happens, that is, then everybody will claim they were on board from the start.
