Chaz Schilens rumored to return Week 7 (1 Viewer)

(Rotoworld) Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle predicts that Chaz Schilens (knee, foot) will return in Week 7.Analysis: The Raiders' bye isn't until Week 10, so they don't really have that to work around. Schilens still hasn't resumed practicing, and Tafur predicts he'll come off the bench when he returns. Schilens would at least be an upgrade at third receiver. Johnnie Lee Higgins is currently filling the role.
From Roto, so grain of salt, but worth noting. With DHB and Murphy emerging, not sure what his role will be, but something to keep an eye on at this point.

Isn't this a guy who constantly gets injured?
So it seems, but he's also the best receiver on the Raiders.
Doesn't seem to be the case any more.
Schilens is definitely better than Murphy, and if he comes back healthy he'll be the Raider WR to own.
I don't know that I agree he's "definitely" better than Murphy. He may be, but Murphy is really coming into his own.

FWIW, I am excited about an upgrade at our WR #3 position. Hue Jackson's playbook from Baltimore and Cincy was chock full of plays that used all 3 WR's often. JLH is a liability in the slot, and Schilens has the surest hands on the team, behind DMC. Not saying to jump all over the guy or hype him, but his return will help the team.

Based on what?
Based on being bigger, stronger, and just as fast, with better hands. Schilens has the tools to be a great WR, if he can get healthy.

I agree that Schilens has more talent than Murphy and is more reliable than a still green DHB.

BUT... he's as brittle as glass and he is not the Raider WR worth owning as the intangible in all of this is that Murphy and Gradkowski have got solid chemistry.

Unless Campbell emerges from the dog house, I'd rather own a healthy Murphy over a healthy Schilens.

Awesome to get this out there a few weeks ahead of time. I think Murphy is strongly the #1 WR on this team and has the trust of Gradkowski right now. Schilens could push DHB to the side but if Murphy has another couple strong weeks where he racks up 100 yds and or a couple TDs, I just don't see how Cable can return him to the WR3 spot. He works too hard and plays big when he is on the field.
