Chicago at Detroit (1 Viewer)

I know Abdullah doesn't have a touch since his fumble...but has he even seen the field?

Absolutely great fake punt call. The decision to punt seemed completely in character (and uninspiring).

Not enough changed on offense though. Not nearly enough shots taken downfield nor enough urgency to run plays at an increased pace.

Detroit bravely cuts the lead to 4 with under 3 minutes left.

Problems:

1. O-line

2. Can't do little things right.

3. Turnovers/Stafford.

4. Injuries that don't help any of above

5. Predictible offense, okay defense, shaky special teams.

6. Coaching calls like that FG.

6 reasons, 6 losses(?). Grats in advance for the free win next week, Minnesota.

FG? Do what
Any credit given for the fake punt is negated by the choice to kick a FG. Horrible.Win or lose this game, Caldwell and Lombardi absolutely are the main reasons why the Lions are losing games this season. Absolutely no guts and that risk-adverse, tightly controlled mindset has absolutely seeped into the on-field play.

... but this is beyond risk adverse. I just don't see how that decision makes any sense at all risk adverse or not.

Watching Jim Caldwell vs. John Fox is like watching a game of football from 1960. These guys are the most ultra conservative, traditional coaches by a crazy amount.

I'll bring it up once again, John Fox once punted on 4th and 7 with 1:40 left and 2 timeouts while trailing by 4.

you'll never guess where the first play goes

that's right! Theo. Just like the first 11 two minute drills this year. Figures the Bears were fooled.

garbage call. It's only grounding if you do it to avoid a sack. Qb and WR were just on different pages there
