Chicago Bears 2012 Offseason Thread (1 Viewer)

Hmm...I'm lukewarm on this guy. He's a TE masquerading as a WR. I'd rather have spent this pick on OLine if Stephen Hill was gone.Couldn't the Bears trade up to pick Hill ahead of the Jets?

Problem is he wasn't 215 last season and there is no chance he was running a 4.48. The upside here is huge IMO but there were valid questions that dropped him to the 2nd. If Ashlon is ready out of the gate he could make Hester a very dangerous threat to defenses. Cutler has to be loving life right now.As far as Hill, I think he is a big version of Hester for at least a couple years. If he can transform into a dominant WR, I would be surprised. Jefferies on the other hand has everything you could want if he keeps it all together. I loved him in 2010 and he looked unstoppable in the SEC.
He thinks Jeffrey is the next Jerry Rice. Don't poke holes in his stats.
He Reminds me of Marcus Robinson. Just hope his career is more consistant

Guys, it can always get worse. You could be a Jags fan and have your War Room take a Punter in the 3rd round. (I love the arrogance of the Jags, like they have no better positions to fill than a punter)

I wonder if they were sweating bullets skipping him in the second because they weren't sure if he'd still be there in the third. If the Bears add Massie I'm officially calling this draft a success regardless of the remaining picks. Sure, the top 3 picks may not pan out, but at least management would have clearly and quickly identified and acted on the major problems. How long has it been since the Bears have done that?

Brandon Hardin, CB/S, Oregon State

Height: 6-3. Weight: 216.

Projected 40 Time: 4.58. Projected Round (2012): 5-6.

4/25/12: Hardin missed his senior season with a broken shoulder. He had a strong junior season with 63 tackles, one sack and three forced fumbles. As a sophomore in 2009, Hardin had 29 tackles with an interception. He has big size with some athleticism. A lot of teams have shown interest and brought him in on pre-draft visits. Hardin may be better off moving to safety in the NFL.

Bears looking at Oregon State DB prospect Hardin

The Chicago Bears brought in Oregon State defensive back Brandon Hardin for a pre-draft visit.A league source confirmed the team’s interest in Hardin, who is an interesting prospect despite missing last season because of surgery on his left shoulder. Hardin projects to be selected in the mid- to late rounds and he’s been getting a lot of interest, as Aaron Wilson of Scout.com reports he has 15 visits lined up.Hardin, 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, played cornerback in college with Bears defensive tackle Stephen Paea. Some are considering him a safety at the next level. He participated in the East-West Shrine Game.Hardin was timed in the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds at his pro day and put up 24 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds. Per Wilson, he’s also had visits with the Chargers, Dolphins, Ravens, Seahawks and Texans, among other teams. The Bears likely brought Hardin in to get a better handle on where he is medically. Earlier in his college career, he had a broken hand and wrist.

Hardin broke his hand in 2008. He had surgery on wrist in 2009. Missed all of 2011 with fractured shoulder.RWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!

Phil Emery says Alshon Jeffery was in top 3 among wide receivers on Bears draft board.

"We feel that Alshon has the best hands in the draft. ... We feel he's the best sideline & end zone catchers in the draft."

believed Jeffery was better in many ways than Justin Blackmon and Michael Floyd.

Emery says Jeffery was not overweight

I've typed and erased this post 4 times and still can't keep from sounding like flapgreen. I'll just not say anything and hope the Bears know what they're doing with Hardin.

Odds of Massie dropping to 16 in the 4th round?

Hmm..something must be wrong with him. He's either dumb as a brick, fat as heck, or a serial killer.

That does it for me. My hope of addressing the worst line in the league is foiled again by taking a backup safety and special teams guy. Have a great offseason, guys. You won't have to listen to my negative banter in here until the season begins. Enjoy.

Thanks, Lovie and Tice. I bet you guys are ecstatic right now after getting that 15th safety and not having to talk about the OL. Too bad neither of you are worth the toilet you #### in. Good luck being jobless next year.

I don't understand the third round pick. At all.Would someone please paint the best case scenario?
Oh, i know this one!!!! He ends up starting a couple games due to injuries to the starters, then next year he is 4th safety behind the guy we draft in the third round, then the year after that we cut him.
