Chicago Cubs tickets (1 Viewer)

Taking the family to Chicago.  Want to go to the Cubs vs Twins Sunday July 1st.  Is there a place/way to get cheaper tickets than 50 a piece?  The only thing online is the 80 dollar seats.  Plus are games family friendly?

Thanks,

You pay a premium to have the tickets in hand prior to game day, while accepting some risk in exchange for (maybe) a better price buying on the street. Sellers will be out there, but they are almost all pros and you never know which way the market will break. I used to buy cubs tickets outside wrigley all the time, but had no pressure because we lived nearby and could always go do something else if we didn’t find the right price. Ask your hotel concierge if they have any - unlikely, but worth asking. If you do decide to buy tickets at the park, best to leave your wife and kids in the restaurant or hotel and go looking on your own. If they see your family in tow, they know they got you.  Bring a seating chart and take a hard look at the tickets before buying. Wrigley is family friendly, other than perhaps the bleachers on a nice sunny day, which can be quite a party. Bathrooms are an adventure so keep your kids close by.

Not sure if it changed, but I believe that Cubs’ StubHub resale shuts down the day prior to a game, in case you want to go that direction.

We got stuck in Chicago three summers ago (2015) on a Labor Day weekend Saturday night because of a missed connection.  I went to the SWAncounter and asked for the LAST flight out on Sunday night as I realized the Cubs were in town on Sunday.  SWA put us up at the hotel and late Saturday night I saw a pair of tickets I liked at a price I liked, so I bought them.

Sunday morning wanted to look to see how the resale market moved.  Opened up the StubHub app and game no longer was available for sale.

Was able to bring up the tickets from the StubHub app though, so I did not have to print them out or anything like that.
