Richmond.
Really? I love what he's done so far this year, but he has never done this before at any level. And he's spent time in some very low levels...Edit to add: I want to believe...
 I'm not a fantasy baseball guy but I've seen everyone of his starts and I don't see him slowing down any time soon. That said, I expect him to hit the wall late in the season as most young pitchers do. Also, with the best offense in the league behind him, he is going to get plenty of support which = W's. And for the prices listed, I'd say he has a lot more value than the other guys.

Plus he's a New Zealander from Canada.

Verlander barely over Shields, outside of less than a handful of bad innings so far he has been sick. If you want to take the safer route, go Shields.

I like Wandy and Cueto, but they're at least a tier or two down from Shields and Verlander.

:coffee: it depends how much the salaries mean to him

Caps are very important. But stud pitchers in a daily lineup appears to be the path to winning the cash cash. I already have Billingsley to start Fri.

I am in 3rd place for the weekly 1500 game, so I am willing to think more short term than long term in this situation.

I decided to go with Wandy.

Next start is heavily weighted for my choice and he is lights out at home, with a .95 ERA and facing SD.

Also a factor was salary- with him or a less value pitcher I could start Adam Jones over Alex Rios.

Thanks for the input. If I could have started Jones and was more long-term focused, I would have gone Verlander, but there are only 4 days to go in the weekly 1500 game and I am in good position with Haren/Gallaraga today, Billingsley / Wandy Fri, and Greinke/Josh Johnson on Sat.

Was about to jump on the Richmond bandwagon until I took a closer look at his spits. He is great against righties and absolutely dreadful against lefties. He will continue to pitch fine as long as he keeps his control in check. A couple of bad ABs against lefties with guys on base are going to send his value plummeting in a hurry.Against the right lineups, this guy will continue to be money, but I would expect him to finish with a 4- 4.5 ERA and a >1.30 WHIP

retroactive to yesterday i'd take a shot with verlander
I got a very nice start/win with Wandy, but Verlander was absolutely dominant. I bought all his outstanding contracts, as much to keep off opponents' rosters as anything.Today I am having a tough time deciding between Josh Johnson and Phillip Hughes.Johnson's Away stats are ugly this season and I want to writeoff Hughes' problems last start to the multiple rain delays... I have Greinke going and I could also buy soemone else- maybe Liriano, Gaqllardo or Harang? But I think I may be overthinking it- and I should just plug in Josh and forget about it.Anyone else have thoughts? I am in 2nd place for the weekly $1500 contest that ends tomorrow, so its crunch time at the wire.

:tfp: He was off the charts great while Hughes was off the charts terrible. Hope you went Johnson.

Went with JJ last night.

I am now in first place and today is the last day.

I have Bedard and Oswalt as my SPs....

Weaver or Lincecum are tempting, but I think I'll stay put.

Oswalt still has the bone bruise on his finger and I decided to go with Lincecum and Bedard instead. Smart move?
