Chris Chambers speaks up..... (1 Viewer)

Oct 24 The Sun-Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins WR Chris Chambers is growing more frustrated over his lack of involvement within the offense. Chambers caught just two passes for 29 yards Week 7. Chambers feels the team should be taking more chances downfield. "I was promised I'll have several shots down the field and felt like I was open a few times. Once we got into that fast offense, I'm normally on the wide side of the field, so right now Joey [Harrington] is probably feeling more comfortable going to the shorter side of the field or somewhere inside. So a lot of my routes really didn't get developed or he wasn't even looking my way," Chambers said. "We need to execute the deep ball better. We have lots of opportunities down the field that we need to take advantage of. It is a little frustrating because I know I can make plays."

About time he shot off his mouth! This guy is killing me this year. And nobody wants him in a trade, so I'm stuck with him. What are the chances this gets him more looks? Or that his coach, Braindead Saban, realizes he is their best playmaker on offense??

Chambers is catching about 43 % of all the passes thrown his way.

Welker, Booker, Brown and McMichael all have SIGNIFICANTLY higher catch percentages so it can't all be blamed on the qb. Why in the world should Harrington throw to him? Fact is, Chambers just isn't that good.

Now that he spoke up, as well as my call to Saban, I will not be afraid to start him, even during the bye week. A mad Chambers, is a catching Chambers.

You're right. He's horrible...

Chambers only has two drops this season. He's among the league leaders in that category.Harrington threw him two passes this weekend in which Chambers came up with greta grabs. One was out out bounds and one was out of the endzone. Those both counted as passs thrown his way that weren't caught. That percentage may be the NFL's most worthless stat.PS. You know who's second in the entire NFL with 5 dropped passes? Steve Smith. (T.Williamson is #1 with 6)

This is a complete B.S. stat. without reviewing the game films.McMichael has dropped many a ball. Many of Chambers "targets" have been completely uncatchable.

Just piling on..but, yep, Catch % is a worthless stat for the most part. It's even more meaningless than W-L record for a MLB starting pitcher...

The problem is the QB isn't getting him the ball... He doesn't drop alot of passes and his deep routes require an accurate QB... Instead he has to make some great catches just to get to 50% catches cause the Miami QB's can't throw deep, can't throw accurately, and can't get past their first read.

Culpepper was suppose to change this but his been exposed... Unless they make Chambers the first read, it won't get any better... but that would be a start.

Chambers was wide open on 3 targets that would have went for a total of 100 and TD. Harrington flat out missed him.

Also Chambers is on the wide side of the field (where he lines up every play) and Harrington is geting rid of the ball too quick and not letting Chambers' patterns develop. Harrington feels more comfortable throwing to the short side. It is very obvious when you watch the game.
I think Chris Chambers goes by "Todem" in the Shark Pool.

That was the case this past week against the Packers. McMichael and Hagan were the receivers killing the Dolphins with a number of drops. Chambers, meanwhile, was rarely targeted and when he was, the passes were often off target (he caught two out of bounds). As far as the person who said he couldn't trade Chambers in his league I'd also be interested to know what he's asking for in return. I've been giving serious thought in my league to going after Chambers again. I made a trade offer for him 3 weeks ago but the guy stalled and I made another deal instead. I think Chambers is a terrific Buy Low candidate and if he's available in any league I'd be looking to deal for him.

I need a good #2 back, so I've tried to package him in a deal with Jamal Lewis for the likes of either Gore, JJ, Tatum, or McGahee. Simple 2 for 1 trade. Nobody wants to bite. I think he's a great buy low candidate myself too. But from speaking with the other owners in my league, they want nothing to do with him! And a couple of these guys need a receiver and are stacked at RB. Go figure.

No one is buying when this week is a bye and next week is the Bears

I wouldn't touch Lewis. Didn't like him before the season and definitely don't like him now. Maybe that's the problem. I wouldn't deal Bell or McGahee for Chambers given how Bell has Top 10 potential the rest of the way and McGahee's second-half schedule is pretty enticing. I probably wouldn't deal Gore for Chambers either unless a little something extra was added to the mix. I'd be inclined to move Jones for Chambers if I was stacked at RB. This isn't the forum for a post like this so I apologize in advance but if it were me, I'd try to add something else besides Lewis and see if that works. If the Chambers owner in my league was offering Chambers and Lewis I'd tell him I had zero interest in Lewis so I'd be looking elsewhere on his roster to try and get a deal done.

Hope that helps a little. :)

I've been shopping him for the past three weeks.

Thanks for the advice but I knew all that already. I wouldn't want Jamal Lewis either. He is more a throw in. Chambers is the real key to the deal. But due to his low numbers early in the season, nobody wants him, which I understand, so I'm content to just keep him and hope things change for the better. This thread was not meant to be a 'what can I get for Chambers' thread'; so let's drop that please. I only responded to someone's inquiry as to what I had asked for him in a trade. ;)

Let's please get back to Chambers comments and if indeed Miami may try to get him involved more after the bye. Opinions???

listen, as a MIA homer, and I do recognize the dropped passes and the targets, etc that CC has, but I still feel he's a special talent. the man catches absurd throws. If he had a Manning/Brady/Bulger throwing to him he'd be top 5, no doubt in my mind. there are many issues with MIA right now including Mike Mularkey's play calling, O-Line, and Culpepper vs. Harrington drama of which neither are serious weapons right now. check out this link for some good Chambers-ness:

Question for the dolphin homers. Is Chambers any good out or the slot? I would think that any OC would want to get the ball into the hands of their playmakers, and Chambers has been that the last couple of years. So why can't they get him more involved?

Regarding trading him, maby those guys are in a league like the one I am in. I have offered on of the top 15 in scoring in our league for just decent players because I am strong at the position. However, I can't even get a whiff. Have also offered Chambers (although I like him), and can't get a whiff. This will be my last year in this league though. I have never been in a league before where nobody ever talks to each other, and rarely deals with each other either. Next year I will be looking at dybasty leagues to throw my hat in, but theres probably boneheaded owners with more money than since in them also lol
