Chris Perry Haters (1 Viewer)

Is there a possibility Chris Perry struggled yesterday because, I don't know, Ryan Fitzpatrick was their starting QB? Just a thought...
How did S Jackson do w/ 50 yr old Trent under center...??stop w/ the EXCUSES!
Did you just compare Chris Perry to Stephen Jackson? :hophead: :hophead:
The Bengals made this exact choice back in 2004. They traded down in the draft, and Steven Jackson was sitting there when they were set to pick towards the end of the first round. Instead of selecting him, they traded down a couple more spots and drafted Chris Perry. Whoops! Not as bad as turning down the Saints offer of their 1st round thru 7th round draft picks in 1999 because they had their hearts set on Akili Smith, but still, just another in a long line of drafting disasters for the Bengals.

Perry looked very mediocre today and I really don't think you can place the blame squarely on his "bad" team. He's part of that team and he just doesn't look very explosive.
Perry hasn't looked good since he was in college. I find it hard to believe people are buying into him again. He's a below average nfl RB who can't stay healthy. They will be drafting a RB, or getting one in FA. They have a very weak RB core.
They better address the OLine first. and the defense. Too many other needs to go after a high priced RB or draft one high. Assuming of course, that Perry stays healthy. There are very few players in Cincy who are much above average.

How do you know they didn't think that the Rams were going somewhere else with that pick and they could've had him 2 picks later?

Because Bengals Mike Brown, a renowned Big-10 lover, admitted to targeting Chris Perry based on his work at Michigan -- specifically his domination of Ohio State. If they liked Steven Jackson, they would have chosen him when he was available to them. You can't keep trading down and expecting the player you're targeting to remain available every time you move down in the draft.

And I think he also just compared Fitzpatrick to Green. At least Green is a former Pro Bowler for crying out loud.
Actually, he contrasted Fitzpatrick with Green. Keep up.
No, it appears Fitz was compared to Green (why else would he say "50 year old" Trent?) in order to contrast Perry and Jackson. MAC_32 opined that Perry struggled due to bad QB play by Fitz, then doubletrouble made the rhetorical point that Jackson lit it up in spite of the QB play by Green. Therefore Fitz and Green were compared (Fiz=bad, Green=bad) so that Perry and Jackson could be contrasted (Perry=bad and Jackson=good).

Either way, QB play doesn't have nearly much to do with the run game success as does the OL quality. Both teams suck there too.

10 yrs ago....and it's ok for you to cry
Are you honestly trying to say Trent Green last made the pro bowl 10 years ago? Try 2005. And yes, I know he is a shell of his former self.
