HomeSeattle street game will pit people against zombies
Citizen Zero starts next month and will challenge players to make it through city streets after an outbreak.
SEATTLE – A new urban street game is coming to Seattle, pitting players against running zombies. The production is called Citizen Zero and it starts next month.
"I've always just been fascinated with the idea of zombies, mainly that they're the dead that have been brought back to life," said Quentin Klein, an actor who will play a zombie.
The premise of the game is that an outbreak has reached the city. The military has set up a quarantine and the only way out is making friends with role players and avoiding zombie attacks.
Brandon Bozzi, Co-Producer for Citizen Zero, said the game in no way is based on current events with Ebola.
"The idea for the game came up before Ebola was in the public conscious as much," he said. "For us it's a fun game. We're not looking at the seriousness of things like Ebola."
In fact, Randy Dixon, Director of Actors for Citizen Zero, said the goal is to give people a break for reality in a very realistic setting.
"I think it being an interactive project is super creative for the participants," he said. "In a haunted house, you tend to follow a route and things jump out at you. Here you have to have a strategy to get through the city."
Participants will wear white arm bands so actors can distinguish players from regular citizens. Tickets range from $40 to $65. Citizen Zero is set for Nov. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22.
