Can you tell me why this is a bad comparison?I 100% agree with this. TripItUp, with your logic all the other GM's must want EJ Manuel more than Tyrod Taylor.

No, I'm not telling you a GM would prefer Booker to Foster in hindsight. This is where we disagree (and that's fine). Just because someone went undrafted in one draft and another went in the 4th round (which isn't a big deal in the grand scheme as many 4th rounders totally bust) in a different draft means nothing. Are you telling me a GM would prefer Booker over a young Arian Foster because Booker was graded as draftable and had "a higher grade"?
When did the other 31 GMs reveal their draft boards?well, pretty much every GM had Booker rated higher than Anderson...and Booker has a more well rounded skillset to boot.

Depends in large part on how you define being "behind in training camp." Offhand though:how many RB's drafted last year were touted as better than the RB they were behind in training camp and actually caught and rose above them during the season (not due to injury, just outperforming)
anyone know? can't be many
Here's the thing... Bell sucked, Crowell was competing with West and didn't win that competition too clearly, Yeldon didn't have competition, David Johnson was suppose to beat Ellington and Chris Johnson who didn't get contract until David got injured. With Anderson I think it's a whole different story, non of those last years news shocked me as a fantasy player.Depends in large part on how you define being "behind in training camp." Offhand though:
Abdullah outperformed Bell
David Johnson outperformed Chris Johnson (even if it took an injury to cement his status)
Duke Johnson didn't exactly outperform Crowell, but he was certainly in the same ballpark
Yeldon outperformed the field, albeit a rather weak one
I'm not even considering Gurley and Gordon, who were pretty much drafted to start. But that's a decent number of the higher-drafted backs. And Coleman had a chance to add his name to the list if not for an injury.
Pretty much every other GM was home watching CJ Anderson perform well as the feature #1 RB on the Super Bowl winning team last year.well, pretty much every GM had Booker rated higher than Anderson...and Booker has a more well rounded skillset to boot.
that's one way of describing it...Pretty much every other GM was home watching CJ Anderson perform well as the feature #1 RB on the Super Bowl winning team last year.
CJ Anderson was the #1 RB on the Super Bowl winning team and in three post-season games, including the Super Bowl, he rushed 54 times for 254 yards with 2 rushing TDs. He performed well, he was the #1 RB, his team won every one of those games, and pretty much every other NFL GM who didn't take him was home watching unless they were at the game. That happened.that's one way of describing it...
Just to add to your point, TWO different GMs tried to sign him to be their feature back: Chicago offered him $19M/4yr and Miami actually did sign him to $18M/4yr.Bracie Smathers said:Pretty much every other GM was home watching CJ Anderson perform well as the feature #1 RB on the Super Bowl winning team last year.
CJ is the #1 RB in a Gary Kubiak offense and he just signed a large contract a few months ago after another GM tried to sign him to be their feature #1 RB.
He is heading into camp as the top back, he is healthy and reportedly is in the best shape of his career.
I think he will start, play well, and post solid numbers.
have him in 2 leagues (out of 6) but lets wait and seeSTUD and steal of FF drafts this year
yup, besides the fumble booker sure did not look decisive or quick. now can he survive most of the season?Wow, looked great...fast, strong, and quick moves.
I don't think CJ owners really want him getting 26-30 touches a game. No way he holds up. If Booker can be solid for 8-10, that helps CJA out big time in my opinion. Ive seen many rbs start there owners 4-0 start only to break down. CJA was barely picking himself up off the ground the whole second half yesterday. Granted, that was a physical ### game but noone is going to be scared of any downfield throws vs Denver all year so he's going to face stacked boxes. Any help he can get to stay fresh for 16 would be nice. The Booker fumble on his first carry was nice as well, Devonte only got two touches the rest of the game.
I was at the ends of every draft, and had him as a target for each one, but didn't get him in any. Seems like my leagues went a little RB heavier this year and he seemed to be taken in the 3rd right before me. Looked good last night. When you go WR-WR-WR for the first time ever and land CJA in the 4th round.....

I don't think tonight will be their typical game plan going forward. You had a brand new rookie'ish type QB going up against a nasty defense. I believe it was a ball control/defense centric game plan. As Siemien gets more comfortable I could see them opening things up more. Heck, on the opening drive I believe the first 5 plays were all passes.I don't think CJ owners really want him getting 26-30 touches a game. No way he holds up. I wish I played in a league with CJ Anderson in the 5th roundHow about when you go WR-WR-WR-WR and then CJ in the 5th! KaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaBOOM!
I want to play in your leagueHow about when you go WR-WR-WR-WR and then CJ in the 5th! KaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaBOOM!
You'd be surprised, his adp was all over the place. I got him in a FBG Players Championship draft yesterday at 4.10 after taking Julio, A.Jeffrey & TY Hilton.I want to play in your league
Don't kick yourself too hard--I did the same thing. The funny thing is that I'm a firm believer in playing your studs too. However--for me--I had a decision to make--I needed to start 2 of the following: David Johnson, CJ Anderson, Jeremy Hill, Gio, Spencer Ware. David Johnson was a must for me even with a tough matchup--so essentially I was between Hill, Ware and CJ. I liked CJ's and Hills matchups the least--so I went with Ware. Two things I learned after last night. I vastly over rated Carolina's run D--and even though I drafted CJ as a RB3--I now need to look at him like a low end RB1-high end RB2. I'm certain benching him will be one of many mistakes that I make this season.I bench him for Spencer Ware![]()
I personally want all my RB's to get 26-30 carries a game. That's why the high drafted RB's are such. That being said I think last night is going to be pretty typical work load for CJ this year, 18-22 carries and 2-4 receptions. Unlikely he gets 2 TDs every week. But I'll take it every week till he breaks down.I don't think CJ owners really want him getting 26-30 touches a game. No way he holds up. This is what happens when you take a strategy as religion. This year the "zero RB strategy" is all the rage. When people pursue a strategy, any strategy, and ignore value, they do so at their own peril. I expect next year people will temper their enthusiasm for this strategy, and we will a more balanced approach to drafts. Particularly when you consider the infusion of young talent at the RB position next year. Consider the league already has Gurley, Zeke, now add in Chubb, Fournette, McCaffery, to name a few, and I expect the enthusiasm for this strategy will die down. How about when you go WR-WR-WR-WR and then CJ in the 5th! KaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaBOOM!
I got him in the fourth round of a ten-teamer. Never thought he'd fall to me. Obviously thrilled that he did and even moreso now.I wish I played in a league with CJ Anderson in the 5th round
I wanted him, took 3.06 in 12 team standard. He would not have made it to the 4th.
And agree with the above, I'd like to see Booker get closer to that 8-10 carries in games where they run it that much.
On paper, it was the right move. Still could turn out to be.I bench him for Spencer Ware![]()
Benched CJ for Ware, Miller & Latavious...I bench him for Spencer Ware![]()
Week 1... give credit where credit is duePretty much every other GM was home watching CJ Anderson perform well as the feature #1 RB on the Super Bowl winning team last year.

perhaps, but CJA looked sharp last night. very quick and decisive with his cuts. i was asking myself last night how as this guy an UDFA running like this? he looked like he was moving twice as fast as booker was out there.Car run def looked soft. Will be interesting to see if cj can keep it up
That stat is not correct or is incomplete.I give a lot of weight to what the guy had done up to the point where he got hurt early last year and then after he got healthy heading into last year's playoffs.
I thought people got too emotionally wrapped up into his early-season struggles due to having an injury and didn't give him enough credit as to what he did after he was healthy.

Nice stat there by NBC. Anderson the only RB to average at least 4.5 YPC each of the past 2 years.
Some in the fantasy crowd hold grudges and last year CJ was a disappointment to anyone who took him high based off his 2014 season yet he was injured early last year AND then got healthy and produced solid numbers especially in the post-season where yards are tougher to get. Kubiak's system is very RB-friendly. Anyone holding a grudge would shift any upside to the rookie and try to supplant CJ but Booker struggled.

Devontae Booker's preseason was disappointing (2.9 YPC), fumble a bad way to start things off #Broncos - just feed CJA!
EDIT: Oh and I had CJ on my bench but my starters are Adrian Peterson and David Johnson so I'll play it by ear for awhile. Great start for CJ.
He looked good. He also took some monster shots. A little surprised he didn't get dingedperhaps, but CJA looked sharp last night. very quick and decisive with his cuts. i was asking myself last night how as this guy an UDFA running like this? he looked like he was moving twice as fast as booker was out there.
Yeah, it didn't sound right so I think the 140 character limit cut off some important part of the quote. That stat is not correct or is incomplete.
