Glad it wasn't just me. They must be having some server side issues. Definitely makes it dangerous to attack right now since you could get lagged out and lose a raid that you were going to win.

I agree. Started a level 8 barracks upgrade last night and that will be down for another 1.5 days. Then it occurred to me, might as well start the other two also (they're only level 5), have them all down at once just to get it over with. Yeah I don't need any more balloons but eventually, maybe I'll want some wizards or something from barracks 2 and 3.VA703 said:

Edit to add: the thing I am most looking forward to in the TH7 upgrade is the additional barracks and camp. Probably will start that upgrade prematurely just for those...

You can. The extra camp and barracks are a godsend. Up to 195 troops now, and still have more camp upgrades that can be done but they are getting expensive.
At TH7 you get the extra camp and barracks, more walls, 2 hidden teslas, dark elixir storage but no drill/gatherer for it so you can only fill it from raids, dark elixir barracks, barbarian king, another big bomb, a seeking air bomb, and I think maybe 2 more regular bombs.
The barbarian King takes a ton of dark elixir to make, 10k I believe. It is going to take awhile to get that from raiding since I normally see less than 100 when on raids, at least at my trophy level around 1200. Not to mention I'll be burning it on troops as I get it.

I thought this was a great tip, and I followed it. Much easier to protect one store than two. Just one correction, the second gold store is necessary before the TH6 upgrade.

So what comes after beef? (carrot, chicken, pig, cow, ???). My guys are still on a pork diet.

1st priority for me after new defense units is maxing all stores. If you do heavy farming stores are absolutely essential. First day of TH6 for me and I have 4 workers and i anticpate all 4 will be upgrading stores overnight tonight.

Made a recent change which is really increasing the effectiveness of my attacks.
Had hit TH7, built extra camp, barracks, upgraded them a bit, but haven't finished any unit upgrades so everything level 3. With troops in the 190-195 range, I was using about 2 healers, 14-15 giants, 14-15 wallbreakers, 30 archers, 12 barbs, 20 goblins. I would focus on bases I could take out air d quickly. Hopefully where giants would target first, or barring that, no more than the 2nd building they'd target. Soon as air D was gone I'd drop healers. I tended to wait on archers/barbs/goblins until giants had moved through defenses into base further, as I found healers too often got distracted if other units got hit, and might leave giants to get slaughtered, which cost me several times.
So that was working decently. But what really made it shine is when I started using the Heal spell in the initial attack. I was losing a lot of giants in taking out the air defense before I could bring the healers in. Now, I deploy most of my giants (first 2 or 3, brief pause so they can set off traps, then most of the rest. I drop the healing spell so it will cover approach and attack on air defense as soon as they start taking hits. Most all of my giants survive now until air D is down and I can deploy my healers to cover them the rest of the way. Doing a much better job destroying defenses now, clearing the way for archers/barbs/golbins to mop up behind them.

Probably my kids.
I'm fine splitting into a "serious" clan and a "casual" clan. As much as I play this game, its mostly a time waster and I would fall into the casual category.
I do have dragons to donate for defense though.

That's my planned order this afternoon when I upgrade. And I always go ahead and build whatever else is available quickly (walls, mines, etc) just to get them on the map.

I got the gems for the 3rd builder quite easily by TH5 and am only 150 trophies away from 1250 which wI'll give me my 4th by TH6. It's pretty doable.
I have 3 builders, and just started TH6. My next builder won't free up for 2 days. This might be the beginning of the end for me, because I'm not going to spend 15 bucks on another two builders, and I'm probably going to lose interest not having anything to do for days on end.

About the same here. Dropped 15 bucks. 4 builders, 803 gems with the 1250 trophies goal still out there. The game is becoming slowly less about building and more about raiding for me, I still see it being fun for a while. Absolutely got my 15 bucks worth.
That said, I want to try Boom Beach and see how I do without spending any money.

I just started this game 2 days ago (still have 30 hours left in the initial shield). Hoping to be able to rebuild the clan castle in the next day.

Crap. It's 450. I assumed the 4th builder was 500 gems but now see it's a ridiculous 1000. That's disappointing.

Just finished the upgrade to TH6. Kind of anti-climatic as I bought everything and put 4 workers to work for the next 8 hours at least, but will be fun to play with the new layout choices.
Looks like TH7 is where it gets fun. 6 day upgrade is insane. Will start it much quicker than the last one. Dash and Grab goblin raids will get my walls upgraded quicker than I thought.

I'm cheap and just hit 3 builders a few days ago. Knocking down trees and shrubs was the fastest path to the 3rd builder for me. I'm now on TH5. To be honest, 3rd builder isn't that big of a deal since most upgrades take a long time at this point. If anything, upgrades are coming slower now than they did with 2 builders at the lower levels.

If I really just want to dump trophies hardcore I'll scratch the giants and fill them with gobs only.
I'll always torch clan troops for a big score if I need that little bit in reserve.
Sometimes I'll throw in a spell or a wizard because i'm crazy like that.
I'm netting about 400k resources on every raid at trophy level 1000. I have just MURDERED it today. Maxed out 2MM gold, Twice.
Most of my raids are plagued by being a little too Leroy Jenkins and less Sun Tzu.
My current ratio, note that I still have th5 camps

I'm at TH6 and still don't really feel like I know what I'm doing. But it's a fun game.
I'm currently upgrading my second mortar. I've been slack on upgrading those, my original one is still only at level 3. Towers/cannons are all at 5/6, Wizard towers at level 2. I just want to get the mortars caught up before I start saving for TH7. No point in trying to build up a bunch of gold if I can get farmed.

Yeah, I have been constantly upgrading troops. To this point everything was 3* but giants. Giants done in a couple days.
