until you are faced with upgrading your pekka to level 3 and it costs 6 million elix. I am actually in the process of upgrading my elix storage to 11 so I can save up for the level 3

Their 1 and 2 are 3 starred and we've got their 10-20 pretty much cleaned up. They have been bottom feeding for the most part.
Their 4 came at me with 35 lv3 hogs and some other stuff and wiped my ### off the map.
I'm planning on attempting to return the favor later. Gotta deal with 13 first.

Elsewhere... bob's Valkyrie cleaned off her axe.
Watch his most recent defense (his 3rd shutout). It was like the barbarians were a stream of water and the valk was the drain.

LOL, never gets old! Are you top guys still using valks in defense or are wizards better at that point? I'm still defaulting to valk but wondering if I should switch next time. Of course I'm still not getting attacked anyway.

Most have a valk. I was going a dragon in one, in part just for variety so the other team couldn't feel complacent. But then I've only been attacked seriously once. That time I had a valk and the guy went golem/pekka/misc and the valk had a big hand in wipoing out the golem and pekkas.
I'm not sure if she is as useful against hogs. If she can get to them and land a hit, they group up and she'd be devastating. But also a chance they run on before her swing goes off.

Did that in fbg1 this weekend. I think my first attack will be a dragon rush and I'll wait and see after that. that's an expensive tactic if not needed.The local clan I'm warring with now I supply all the cc troops. All wiz & arch with a few dragons but you start noticing costs when you're funding the war defense.Damn, I have a buttload of dragons that I can't refund. This happens every war.Pretty much.

With all dragon rushes where you are confident the outcome won't be in doubt, hold 3-4 in reserve initially. You only need 9-10 for the roughest bases. I found I was going way overkill by dropping all of them most of the time. Plus you give yourself flexibility if your dragons start going off course and you need to direct a few to a specific area.Did that in fbg1 this weekend. Sorry in advance but I debated on whether to say anything or not but the way things have been going with some of these later wars is really starting to rub me the wrong way (and maybe it shouldn't but who knows).
A bunch of our higher level guys continue to spend their own DE in order to stock our offensive and defensive CC each war with high level troops. They don't gain anything from this aside from helping out the rest of the folks in the clan (I believe it was Greg who put out over 11K in DE troops this war - if he's lucky, maybe he gets back 1K). Lately though, a number of folks have taken to using one attack to help the war and waiting to use their second attack until the war is in hand to gain a bigger chunk of war loot (i.e. the honeypot).
It's one thing if when the war is trending favorably that those who helped stock us go for a honeypot (assuming they hadn't already used both their attacks) to recoup something, but it just doesn't seem right for anyone else to do so when the war is still going on, especially when some of those higher level guys were pushing to get to 150 (and that was/is definitely doable with the large number of lower level bases still with available stars on the other side).
Again - don't mean to offend anyone with this and who knows, maybe those higher levels who are donating don't mind it at all (and really don't need me defending them).

I dont think it's a big deal. I gave out 12 valks or so. Did it as a pay it forward thing. Didn't expect to gain anything. Don't mind people using second for loot. Might have a problem if they used both

I think "honey potting" is what's best for the clan. More loot=better defenses, offenses and quicker growth.
At this point you don't get anything for winning by a huge margin, which by the way sucks.
If margin of victory and rankings were something that could be used to help the clan, I'd be with you. But the reality is that a push to 150 is meaningless. More loot for everyone is far more important at this stage IMO.

I don't really know why people need to loot anyways. What's the difference between that and a legit attack? 100k? 150k? i.e a single normal raid for most people.
I "looted" that one time where there was that high base that like 10 of us hit, other than that, I like to try and go for it. Sometimes I hold back my second attack to see how we're tracking so I know how much of a challenge I can take on the second time around.
Until Supercell starts putting in some better awards for kicking the #### out of every clan on the planet, I guess it's not a big deal, but I would just assume if you want to participate in the war, then make war.

Yesterday was tough for me as I could only log in sporadically throughout the day, but I wasn't aware that we were going for 150 as a plan. Yes, it would be nice to hit, but if we are making that a goal, we should notify everyone.
I 3 starred #2 early on in the war, and last night I - starred #1 for loot. At that point, my recommended opponent was 22, because he was the closest with 0 stars. The difference in loot was 200k gold/elixr and 750 DE. The loot difference basically paid for 15 of the hogs that I doled out as cc troops, so yes, the loot was significant. And honestly, I wasn't available to donate as much this time, and Greg fueled a lot of our CC troops.
I had made a comment last night about how I wished I could donate loot to clan mates to help with their cause. (My storage was close to full) The more I thought about it, in a way I am when other people have the ability to loot. I spend DE to make troops that I give away, they get loot back. As a clan, we get stronger.
I'm good with a push for 150 just to say we did it, just spread the word better once we see an opponent that we believe is ripe for the picking.

It depends on their top few guys. If our top guys can take them out, we can do if. But if we know that their number one or two are way out of our league, then 150 isn't possible and loot is the way to go once we get our lead.

In some wars I've used my second attack to go after a highly-ranked honeypot, but I'll try to get as many stars as I can. Not only do I get the loot, but is also good practice attacking stronger bases.
For those that want to shoot for 150, is that a one-time thing, or would that be the goal in every war?
