Mark Clayton confirmed Sunday that the right knee injury he suffered in the Rams' Week 5 loss to Detroit is season-ending.

Really sucks for Clayton, Bradford and my fantasy team..

Took advantage of opportunity and ran with it- can only imagine whats going thru his head

Basically neuters Bradford unless Robinson gets healthy

Hoping that Deon Butler emerges after the bye after Branch trade rumors...this sucks :goodposting:

Man, that is terrible news for Clayton...who really seemed to revive his career this year in St. Louis. Here's to hoping he has a full recovery. I don't own him in any leagues or anything...I just hate to see a comeback story a put on hold like this.

:scared: I was the only one to put faith in him in one league and was so happy to see him pay dividends. Can't believe this could be the end of his career. Baltimore never utilized him correctly and he was showing the league that this year.

I've had in in a salary cap league for 4 years. He was so huge for me with VJax out this year. There goes first place....

And I just cut Amendola the other day....arghhh!!
I picked him up Friday for nothing more than depth. Looks like that will change.
With the departure of WR Mark Clayton in the first quarter with a knee injury, Rams WR Danny Amendola became the main weapon in the Rams' passing game in Week 5 at Detroit. He led the team with 19 targets  , 12 receptions and 95 receiving yards in the 44-6 pasting by the Lions. While Amendola had his most productive game of the season, he made a critical fumble on the Detroit six-yard line in the first quarter, when the Rams had a chance to take an early lead. The Lions failed to score on the ensuing drive, but they took the lead early in the second quarter and never looked back. Amendola could be poised to have many more afternoons as QB Sam Bradford's main target, as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Clayton has deemed his injury severe enough to be season-ending.

Fantasy Analysis

If Week 5 was any indication, Amendola will be the prime beneficiary of Clayton's injury. For the foreseeable future, Amendola's Fantasy value will get a boost. He still has yet to score a touchdown this season, and he will face a much tougher pass defense in Week 6 when the Rams go home to face the Chargers. Nonetheless, with more targets in his future, Amendola rates as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR from here on out.
Hate to see anyone get seriously injured though.
