Clemens is here to stay. (1 Viewer)

Clemens will be starting from here on out. What an arm, and now as in this week, is the time to go for Coles and Cotchery in trades.

In a few weeks, you won't be able to get them with out giving up a fortune. Cotchery in particular is a guy you can probably get cheap and he will be a top 20 receiver from here on out.

New York fans you have got to be happy.

Yeah Baby!!!

Cotchery owner here.

Watching the Jets games up to this point has be somewhat painful, but Coles and Cotchery definitely have the skills. They are gamers, you can see it in the intensity in which they play. Pennington has been pathetic with his wet noodle arm. I have not seen a lot of Clemens, but from what I gather, the kid has talent.

I believe that Cotchery may actually be a easier to trade for at this point as I think most owners undervalue him. Coles has a name and he's done it before, so he may be perceived a bit higher... and he has been targeted in the endzone much more than Cotchery by Pennington. If I remember correctly, Clemens targets them more equally in the red zone.

If you have depth at RB and the Cotchery owner in your league is thin, I am thinking a mid-tier #3 type RB could land you a top 15 receiver from here on out.

Wasn't he 5/12 67 yards and 2 INTs?
Clemens first INT wasn't good, but the second INT was with less then 10 seconds left in the game on a hail Mary! I dont get why Mangini put Kellen in today. The only thing that did in the long run is put him in a situation where failure has the chance of messing with his confidence going forward... yea, great - stick the rookie QB in the game for a 2 minute drill after not playing for weeks... Its not like this game mattered at all... why didn't he just wait and start him next week? Now Kellen has "2" INTS on his mind that were accumulated while trying to dig himself out of a hole that Chad and Eric had already created...

The last INT isn't a reflection on Clemens skils. The coaches told him to throw a hail mary.

He was neither good or bad. But, he has a big arm and can play. He is the future and I glad to see him in there.

I think most Jets fans would rather have a guy who can sling the ball 50 yards than a noodlearmed "smart guy" who can't win a game.

Let your judgement come in next week after he gets a full game.

But, for now try to trade for Cotchery or Coles. It will pay off.

and your still going to have the same coach calling the plays. When that changes, I'll get excited.

Look, I'm not going to beat this into the ground, but buy low on Coles and Cotchery.Coaches call different games for fifferent QB's. Look at the Titan's with Collins and VY. I watch every minute of those games and the play calling changes dramatically. Clemens has a cannon and isn't dumb. The WR there are taking a step up the same way they do when in TN when Collins is in. No more arguing, I am out.

I don't understand how either of them are a buy low.In my PPR league they were the 9th and 14th ranked WRs going into this week. I'm not sure how either is a "buy low" unless you see them jumping aahead of guys like Edwards, Burress and Moss.

I dont play PPR leagues... I didnt know they would be that high in that style league. In yardage and TD leagues they are about to improve in my opinion.

As a die hard Jets fan....I could not be happeier to see Chad on the bench. He is trash.
Pretty harsh on a guy that has given his body to your team.I understand maybe wanting to move on and give Clemmons a shot, but trash? Are you amongst the Jets faithful that cheered as Pennington collapsed from the pain on the field in versus the Patriots? :boxing:

As a diehard Jets fan :boxing: at least I may get my season tickets next year? But seriously, I htought for years Chad would bring us to the promised land. I just think that the window of opportunity has come and gone for him. I think its time to see if we need to draft a QB in the first 5 picks of the draft or we can go with another cog in the offensive line -- because its obvious that is where we need the most help.

Man, what I would have given to be at the post-game press conference as a member of the media. My first question:

"Umm, Chad? Yes, over here... to your right. Should I still consider it a privilege to be able to cover this team?"

:goodposting:

Eddie George was trash at the end of his career too... Its not personal its the facts. Get over yourself.
I'm not sure what I have to "get over".Maybe I just have a different definition of "trash" than some others but I would never refer to a player who has given so much of himself to the team I root for as "trash". I often think that it may be time to move on to another player, as skills can deteriorate and younger, skilled players are chomping at the bit, but I appreciate the players who have clearly given their all, in body and mind, to the football team that I root for each Sunday to the point that I don't compare them to the crap I roll out to the curb every Thursday.Maybe that's just me.

must be you... odd.

No, it's not just him.I have the utmost respect for Chad - always have - and I wouldn't call him trash. In fact, I still think Chad gives them the better chance at winning than Clemens does, but we have to at least see what KC can do to evaluate the future.

I'll tell you what he can do. He can get the ball to Cotchry and Coles more. So, all kidding around aside my post was to say trade for them if you can this week. It wasn't to pick on Pennington.

Coles owner here...I am actually scared... I know Pennington liked to go to him.. not sure Clemens will do it. I can see Coles numbers dropping.

Also I heard Coles got hit hard today...any concern here? or was it not too bad.

did anyone see the series just before Clemens took over?

Pennington threw one of his patented floaters to the sideline where Coles had to wait and go fully extended for it just to get knocked out of the game by McGee. Pennington has been getting receivers beat up more this season than I can remember. I think Mangini had seen enough. Otherwise, a change could have been announced during the week.

Coles, Cotchery, Jones, Washington, Baker, etc... must be dancing in the street. no more being hung out to dry.

Unforunately, this is 100% correct. Chad throwing the lofty throws all over teh field routinely lineup the receiver for a nice shot. While I like Chad as a player (great love for the game, will always give his all) the time has come for him to move on from the Jets. He just doesn't have the arm strength - Clemens showed in the last 3 minutes that he atleast can sling the ball around. This I think will ultimately help the Jets O (esp. the running game). Teams are going to have to be a lot more honest.I really hope Chad moves on next year to a team where he can just be a game manager - the Jets offense isn't for a game manager type of QB with the porous D. He's a good guy and is not a terrible player. The Bears are a team that comes to mind when all its players are back from injury. I think the Jets have got to move on to Clemens.

yeah, McGee knocked him out for a bit while he was waiting for (and caught) one of Pennington's lobs. He walked off the field under his own power, but you could see he was trying to clear the cobwebs. He's a tough nut. I'm sure he'll play next week.

Harsh is the bill for season tickets...harsh is watching him hinder this offense yr in and yr out with his medioce skills and his less than average arm stength. Chad is a trooper for coming back from injury...but he can't cut it anymore. He has never done anything but dissapoint. So you'll have to excuse me if the "he gave his body for the Jets " angel doesn't cut it with me. He earns a million $ paycheck top play a game. Let's not forget that.

I think this is bad news for Coles owners. Coles was definetly the guy Pennington locked on to, especially in the red zone. In my head, watching the games, I count ATLEAST 8 targets in the end zone to Coles this season from Pennington.

I think this can only be good for Cotchery owners... Pennington does not seem to go to him inside the 20.

Cothcery owner here and I have no reason think he'll thrive with Clemens.

The Jets never call any play his way inside the 10 - they're always to Coles.

What reason do you have for assuming Cotchery turns it around? :goodposting:

I'm not saying whether it's true or not, but there is a school of thought that Pennington favored Coles because of their familiarity and Clemmons bigger arm suits Cothery's skill set.

turn it around? through 8 games he's 46/591. a projected full season looks like 92/1182 and has two 100 yd games, one of which came in Clemens' first start where he had the best game of his career, 7/165/0. I see what you're saying about red zone looks and lack of TDs, but he's got the numbers.

Cotchery was actually the bigger red zone target than Coles was last year, so things could change.
