Qb maturity.
And WR maturity and guard maturity and RB maturity. It is amazing how many rookies this team is starting. A few years this could be a pretty good team.
Depends how many of them are left after the new guys are brought in.
Who would you cut? With the new rookie scale it makes sense to stick longer with the guys you drafted.
Way too early for that. As it stands right now this is how I see these guysCornerstone - Richardson

Starters - Thomas, Mack, Schwartz

Earning a role - Benjamin

Has a chance to earn a starting job over the next 13 weeks - Weeden, Gordon, Cameron

Not developing as planned, needs to step it up - Little, Pinkston

Not married to, adequate depth - Colt, Ogbonnaya, Massaquoi, Ryan Miller, Greco, Norwood, Alex Smith, Thad

Need to upgrade - Lauvao

Cut - Watson, Cribbs, Maresic, Cousins, Hardesty, Jackson
Nice list. One thing - the positivity toward Benjamin is surprising considering he has only caught 5 of his 15 targets this year. Gordon is 7 of 14 and Little is 11 of 25.

Watching the game last night against the Ravens, I would say they need some play making receivers. Weeden might have had his coming out party last night, Little should have caught that touchdown pass in the 4th quarter on a beautiful pass from Weeden where moved up in the pocket away from the rush and put the ball in his hands in the end zone. Weeden also looked very good getting when they got the ball back on the 10 with about 1:10 left and no time outs, he was hitting receivers near the side lines, and he didn't look scared or overwhelmed at all with a good defense (not playing prevent) and the clock against him. Richardson runs hard and looks like a beast, the defense is some where between average and good, and their special teams are good with Dawson and Cribbs (if he comes back from that hit).

I'm cautiously optimistic the new staff won't do things like try to throw stop and go's to the mini Benjamin in one-on-one coverage on the outside vs. Asomugha. To me that just kinda seems clueless, but then again this is the Browns coaches we're talking about so it comes with the territory. Game's too big for Gordon right now, we'll see how he develops as the season goes on - he just looks lost out there more often than not. Expected seeing how he didn't play last year and he came into camp late.

Little's been beaten to death, in every form - it's on him to fix his problems and he must do it fast or he's going to get phased out. On a better team he'd be on the end of the bench right now, but the Browns don't have options, so he plays. Nice job, management.

Time. Weeden will never be an all-pro, but he's serviceable. WR's are all young and wil grow/improve. Stud RB, young lineman. Decent Defense.Be patient Browns fans...this team will turn the corner as early as next year.
I agree with this. I've watched a ton of Browns games over the last 15 years as well, and they are continually one of the most boring offensive teams ever. They belong in the 1920's NFL. That may be about to change, though. Give Weeden a year or so. Don't judge him too quickly. He seemed poised and didn't get frustrated when his passes were slighly off or when his WR's flat out dropped or let balls slip through their hands in crunch time. Thats a good sign. Richardson's combination of speed and power may put him in the elite category over the next 5 years. It is an excellent place to be building from. Patience Brown fans. That is what the offense is missing is some patience.
