Cliff / Plumber guys, need help again (1 Viewer)

So back in December I posted about my leaking shower and the caulking issues. I re-caulked and stopped the leaking, but now had another large section go bad. So tore out the caulking to redo it yet again. However, there is a LOT of water back behind the caulking. I cleaned it well, left to let it dry, came back, and found lots of water again. Rinse and repeat three or four times. I think I figured out what is happening. My door frame has openings INSIDE the shower stall. I think this is hollow, so the water is getting in these openings and then running down through the railing and getting in behind the caulking that way. See the image:

Rail openings

It seems to me openings INSIDE the shower stall is an issue? Should these openings be there? Or is this yet again just bad install by the builder?

p.s. Getting fairly fed up. Who so I call to get this fixed right? Plumber? Or some sort of shower install expert? Not sure who normally performs this type of process.

Might not be looking properly at the pic, but it is my understanding that those holes are there so that any water that gets trapped in the door track can drain back into the tub/shower.

It looks like what Hoh describes...those holes look like they are designed as means for water to drain back into the shower.  Where exactly is the caulking problem...outside the shower door frame?

Both caulking to the wall to the left of the door and to the right of the door have failed. In this case, the caulking is inside to the left as you look at the frame in the picture. I removed the caulking and found lots of water. After I dried it all out and left it to dry, when I returned, a lot more water had shown up in that corner where the frame meets the wall. That is what is leading me to believe the water is leaking from inside the frame. I can't confirm it though as I can't see in there. I have dried it out and had more water show up about four or five times so far. It seems like it is finally slowing, like the water may have finally drained out f there. Simply put, I don't know where else it could be coming from. Maybe there should have been a cap on the end the builders left out or something, I don't know.
