Yet another reason the current GOP is lost. They won’t do their job there or in the Senate in DC.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone refer to wealth inequality, education, and immigration as "short term issues" before.Based on the priority and quantity of airtime given during the debates this issue is once again headed to the "all talk, no action" trash bin. We'll rejoin the Paris Accord but that will not translate into anything meaningful.
The Dems' are going to spend all their newfound political capital on short-term issues like wealth inequality, free college, gun control, immigration, etc.
Same as it ever was.
4 years ago it wasn’t even brought up in a single debate. I’ll take the fact that it is a priority with many of the candidates and regard that as a success for now.Based on the priority and quantity of airtime given during the debates this issue is once again headed to the "all talk, no action" trash bin. We can do better. Fortunately we have.4 years ago it wasn’t even brought up in a single debate. I’ll take the fact that it is a priority with many of the candidates and regard that as a success for now.
This means nothing until he DOES somethingLindsay Graham is sounding the alarm:

Hey look he’s not one of my favorite politicians. In fact ever since 2017 he’s behaved like a little weasel and I’m especially disgusted by his performance during the Kavanaugh hearings.
But beggars can’t be choosers. He’s the first Republican of note that I can think of who has broken away from their group refusal to address this issue so more power to him.
"Climate change is real, the science is sound and the solutions are available," Graham said in April. "If I told Trump that [special counsel Robert] Mueller thinks climate change is a hoax, we'd be well on our way."Lindsay Graham is sounding the alarm:

He isn’t doing it for the primaries, but he has to find some way to blunt Harrison for the generals. This could be enough. He is not doing this for reelection. Trump supporters are going to nail him on this
So what? By being a Trump lackey he is enabling Trump to make the situation worse.Lindsay Graham is sounding the alarm:

Look it’s been so hard to get Republicans to even SAY anything about this issue that I think we should welcome it for now.So what? By being a Trump lackey he is enabling Trump to make the situation worse.
Stop and think about where they've convinced you to set your bar tim....Look it’s been so hard to get Republicans to even SAY anything about this issue that I think we should welcome it for now.
I’ve set my bar on reality. Are you expecting we’re going to get a Democratic President, Senate and House with filibuster proof majorities any time soon? Because if we don’t, we need Republicans on our side on this issue.Stop and think about where they've convinced you to set your bar tim....
He absolutely is a little two-faced spineless weasel: source.Lindsay Graham is sounding the alarm:

I am not sure what this even means. It's proven, unquestionable FACT that politicians will do the absolute bare minimum to clear expectations of them. They are like water...the path of least resistance. Things will NEVER ever ever ever ever get better if you continue to lower the bar. That you associate his lip service with progress simply tells him all he needs to provide is lip service.I’ve set my bar on reality. Are you expecting we’re going to get a Democratic President, Senate and House with filibuster proof majorities any time soon? Because if we don’t, we need Republicans on our side on this issue.
The key in this progress was lead by Miami, Tampa and Orlando news agencies of all places. They have done God's work in framing this debate. It's not "we need to do something about climate change" anymore. It's "we need to do something about the flooding in Miami". "We need to do something about the pollution issues on the coasts". "We need to be prepared for sea level rise" etc. Of course, by the time the staunch GOPers catch on, it's too late. Many around me are pissed with the way DiSantis is governing. Personally, I am pretty pleased, all things considered. He's been far more reasonable than I thought he would be much to the chagrin of a lot of people who voted for him.The first Republican to pleasantly surprise me on this issue was DiSantis, governor of the 3rd most populous state. He even appointed a Chief Science Officer and said let the science drive policy. Many younger Republicans have finally come around, even Matt Gaetz. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sun-sentinel.com/opinion/editorials/os-op-desantis-climate-change-20190528-zxfc3aq4qbc5xnre27i4bbhp6u-story.html%3foutputType=amp
He's so easy to manipulate. Xi, KJU, Putin...they've figured it out and so has Graham.Makes his support for Trump even more pathetic. "If we want to get things accomplished all we need to do is tell him a conspiracy theory"
OMG I knew it!!"Climate change is real, the science is sound and the solutions are available," Graham said in April. "If I told Trump that [special counsel Robert] Mueller thinks climate change is a hoax, we'd be well on our way."
Could also substitute "Obama" for "Mueller".
Without any costIt's cute how politicians and voters believe Climate Change can be fixed in a day. Adorable.
It’s way too easy to ignore. It’s invisible, it’s technical, it’s slow moving. We’re pretty screwed.PhantomJB said:Meanwhile, I have no idea how an issue like climate change can somehow get relegated to the 3rd page of a Political Forum.
File away under No ####.Don't Noonan said:I would definitely would be open to hear more on climate change to change my opinion. I just haven't seen anything that shows it is an urgent issue.
If it ever gets put to a vote we’ll see how he really feels, but John Cornyn has been a tepid supporter of a carbon tax for a few years now.timschochet said:But beggars can’t be choosers. This is a bit much. The current favored proposals are designed to further enslave humanity
EVs are responsible for less pollution than combustion engine vehicles even when the electricity used in the car is generated with coal. The pollution created during the manufacturing process of an EV is about on par with that of a combustion engine vehicle, and that accounts for pollution created during the mining process. EVs becoming more ubiquitous also leads to more battery recycling and less of a need for further mining.Electric cars run on coal. Mining for lithium and rare earths for the batteries are total disasters for the environment. Combustion engines are still cleaner.

The hemp car running on hemp oil is a better solution to our energy and pollution woes. We could power all our country from houses to cars and industry using 6% of the landmass to grow hemp. But that’s too simple. It wouldn’t require a ridiculous cap and trade scheme run by the government and favored industry/ crony capitalists. The current favored proposals are designed to further enslave humanity while enriching the already to rich and powerful. I don’t want my every step micro managed by government in the name of quack science and Marxist control.
Good overview of that subject:Electric cars run on coal. ... Combustion engines are still cleaner.
Not going to pretend I understand much of either but I get the gist I think. The paper from the Finnish dudes hasn't gone through any serious peer review. Thanks for the read, hadn't seen it

I can't wait until this shyster is rotting in jail. Better yet, how about lock him in a room with the parents of children at Ssndy Hook and whatever happens, happens.

Yeah this whole global warming thing is a U.N. agenda 21 propaganda show.
Huh? You realize thats infowars right? And already been refuted in this thread.Yeah this whole global warming thing is a U.N. agenda 21 propaganda show.
The Marshall Plan was specifically designed to oppose the "one-world-government" model.Huh? Have you not heard Ocommunist Cortez speak? She said we need a Marshall plan for climate change. Sounds pretty one world government and U.N. Agenda 21 to me.Huh? You realize thats infowars right? And already been refuted in this thread.
