Clinton President/GOP controls both Houses, what's the worst that could happen IYO? (1 Viewer)

Assume HC manages to fend off the GOP nominee and his pitchfork supporters, assume the GOP stays in control for at least 2017 and 2018...what things have you worried about this scenario? We scream and fight a lot about something we have very little control over, what is going to happen in our day to day that's going to change? I'm simply going with this scenario since it appears we have an overwhelming majority of people who likely will vote for Clinton at this stage.

About the only thing I expect to happen immediately in that Scenario is that the confirmation of the replacement to the Supreme Court will take place 5 minutes after congress is back in session.

Otherwise, same as it's been for the past 6 years.. Lots of :argue: and not a lot changing.

Eight more years of silly, trumped up hearings on matters of little import that are made out to be "worse than Watergate!!!!" by the Republican echo chamber.

1. You will see it harder to participate in the investment community unless you are very rich.

2. We will get an activist Supreme Court.

3. ObamaCare will never get reformed. More health organizations will go out of business.

4. It will get harder to do business in the U.S.; more companies will leave.

That is just off the top of my head.

If Trump or Clinton win, they will be hugely unpopular right off of the bat, that first 100 days when they have influence to pass significant portions of their agenda will be highly muted.  Even with a democratic house, senate and a president with decent approval ratings, they had to make all kinds of crazy carve outs to get health care through. Now imagine how much how much push they'd have with an unpopular President?

The regulatory stuff behind the scenes will continue no matter how unpopular the President.

That Supreme Court thing is a doozy.  Get ready for the spike in gun sales when she's elected.  It's all but certain most gun ownership rights will be deemed unconstitutional under her watch.  It won't be pretty.

Annie Oakley is not banning guns.

The other thing to consider is what information do other governments and bad actors have on the Clintons that they could threaten them with?

The minute she wins, the republicans will confirm the nominee Obama put up.. most Republicans like the nominee but didn't want Obama's stamp on the court. But given a choice of judge they like nominated by someone they don't vs. A judge they don't like nominated by someone they dislike as much they will choose the judge they like.

Garland is a confirmed anti-gun judge.  He would essentially carry out that worst case scenario.

Yet the nomination to his current position was approved by 98% of the republicans.

I've been hearing the same argument about guns from my NRA family members for over 7 years now... I don't see Clinton doing anything that Obama couldn't when he had super Majority.

If Hillary is elected, the worst thing that could happen is that Obamacare completely unravels with providers fleeing the system and health care costs spiralling upwards.  The GOP congress will block and any and all emergency fixes that Hillary proposes on the grounds that the democrats foisted Obamacare on the American people, therefore no democrat should have a say in fixing it.  They hammer her for 4 years with a health care crisis in an attempt to win the 2020 election with the issue.  It may work.  It may not work.  But our health care gets a lot worse in the next 4 years.  That's the worst case scenario I think.

He never had a rock solid "ignore the facts and just side with the liberal position" Supreme Court majority like Clinton will have.  It's the only thing that has protected gun ownership.  It's going to be ugly.

I think she's gonna send out more troops aka more pointless military spending.

I also think we're gonna go into another recession.

More jobs will go overseas, middle class will continue to see a decrease in income. And so on and so forth.

But these things are bound to happen regardless of who the president is.

Student loan crisis will probably come to a head like the housing crisis did in 2008. Congress will block any kind bill addressing the student loan crisis.

As a future doctor, the future of health care scares the #### out of me just because it's so uncertain. I know for a fact that doctors are beginning to refuse Medicare/Medicaid patients because of the crappy reimbursement.

Sad times we're living in.

Continued deterioration of Europe

contunued increase in economic inequality

continued unsustainable deficits

continued wage stagnation

economic malaise that woud slow down innovation and advancements that we need to combat new challenges new diseases and to develop viable alternative energy sources

4 more years of no plan to transition unskilled labor into jobs of the future as automation takes on more and more

continued rise in the incidents of terrorism

contiued decline in freedom both here and overseas

continued decline of democracy worldwide
