Clubber is too fast for Drago, but doesn't have much endurance. Does Clubber have the strength to knockout Drago in 3-4 rounds? I say he does. Drago looks like a man of steel, but is susceptible to a good punch. I pity the fool. Lang in 4.

Who in their right mind could say Lang? It took 15 rounds of the fittest, most focused Rocky ever to knock Drago down once. He chopped at his mid section like he was chopping down a tree and it still took 15 rounds. Drago in 6.

Great contrast in style between the two boxers. Lang will probably try to finish off the better conditioned Drago with an early round barrage. If Drago can sustain that, Drago can keep Lang at bay with his superior reach and frustrate him with his superior technical skills. Drago wins by KO in the 8th.

My point is that I don't think Drago CAN sustain it. It took ONE punch by Rocky to hurt Drago, and Balboa is nowhere near as strong as Lang is. For all Drago's fearsomeness, guy has a glass chin.

Lang doesn't have the reach or stamina to go the distance. He's a lot like Tyson was. Get him past 6 and he's done. Drago could easily last 6 against Lang. He has a huge reach advantage and was no slouch in the power category either. What was it...like 2250 pounds per sq inch?

Clubber mostly trash talks. Drago is a machine and would put him down handily, I think.
Whatever he hits......he DESTROYS!ETA: Once Clubber became old and washed up, Brigette Nielsen would probably dump Drago for him.

After 2 rounds of giving Drago everything he had, Lang would look at Drago unscathed, and Lang would feel fear for the first time ever in the ring. It would be too much for him. He might not even come out for the third round.

Drago wins on paper, but Lang wins in the ring. Clubber has the unstoppable determination, like Balboa had.

Rocky Balboa: He's just another fighter.

Mickey: No, he ain't just another fighter! This guy is a wrecking machine! And he's hungry! Hell, you ain't been hungry since you won that belt.

My instincts were Drago. And I might stick with that. However, all we know about Drago was that he had a great amateur career, beat a retired and old Apollo Creed in an exhibition, and lost by knock-out against another old and retired fighter in his own country. All while on steroids. Lang may eat this guy up.

Living in America - hand to hand, across the nation

Living in America - got to have a celebration

That's not the point. The point is, which guy has the Eye of the Tiger? Who will rise up to the challenge up of his rival?

Will the ref allow Clubber to do that BS move where he throws his opponent halfway across the ring and into the corner?

Drago.

It took 15 rounds to chop that guy down.

No way does Clubber have the chin or fortitude to take that much abuse in order to trade with Drago that long.

"He's not human, he's like a piece of iron."

I voted Drago, but if the match occurred after the Rocky IV bout I might go the other way. Once Drago had been hurt and taken out by Balboa, Clubber might be able to get into his head.

Also, all bets are off if there is pre-match drug screening.

I nominate this as Tim's best thread ever.

lang was getting winded in the second balboa fight by round 3 or 4. i don't think he'd be able to take drago out quickly enough. drago KO 2nd half of the fight.

During Rocky III's intro, we see Rocky defeating numerous contenders in a montage. In this montage, Clubber is displayed as being annoyed at the relative ease with which Rocky wins the bouts. Later he is seen training himself and brutally thrashing other boxers until he becomes the number one contender, running up an awesome record of 56-0, all by KO. At the end of the montage, Clubber is shown yelling at Rocky's trainer Mickey, goading him to set up a fight between Rocky and himself, shouting "I want Balboa."
Ivan Drago wasn't permitted to resume his boxing career after his loss to Rocky Balboa because of the special circumstance that he could not officially turn pro in the USSR. Ivan Drago turned professional after the fall of the Soviet Union and accumulated an impressive 31-1 (31 KO) record while also winning a portion of the Heavyweight title. He never unified the title or fought the very top contenders (as a pro) because of promotional politics.
Gotta go Clubber here. His hair is also way more badass.

Lang = Tyson

Drago = a juiced up Lennox Lewis

Lang never has a shot, but Drago may lose an ear or get stabbed

I ve been to several exhibition boxing matches.. So I belive I can say with some authority....take the African American unless he is fighting a tough looking Mexican. Never take the white guy.

I don't think Lang would be able to get into the head of Drago. That's most of Lang's game. Although the "Hey woman! How'd you like a real man?" line may work on Drago's wife. She left Drago for Flavaflav.

Knowing that she likes to ride washed up black guys from the 80s, Clubber Lang will be distracted by Brigitte Nielsen sitting ringside.
