As much as I respect Belichick and Dungy and what they (and their teams) have accomplished so far this season, it seems to me that the front runners at this point should be:

McCarthy GB

Fisher TEN

Marinelli DET

All three have teams succeeding at a far higher level than preseason expectations.

I'm a Packer homer, so take me with a grain of salt, but I'd put them in the above order because all three had similar expectations coming in, but to date, the Packers have the best record of the 3.

As bad as the Lions have been over the last 6 years (24-72), including 3-13 last year, I don't see how it can't be Rod Marinelli in a runaway. It's hard enough to acquire enough talented players to improve, but when you have to change a losing culture that has been in Detroit for years, and cut talented players to do that, you have to give it to Marinelli. No coach had to do this much to turn a team into a winner.

C'mon....RAC has to be in the conversation here. He took a crap team that no one thought would win 3 games this year and now they have a winning record. If they keep up this pace and finish 10-6, or 11-5, how can you not vote for RAC as Coach of the Year?

I went with Marinelli. I think he is doing more with less than the others. Wade inherited a playoff team. If we aren't letting roid boys into the Probowl, then we can't put cheating coaches in there. And nobody who starts the season flipping a coin for the starting QB should get a nod for COY. GB, well Favre is as much the coach as the coach.

How is this even a question? Bill Belichick is the answer. With confidence.
Sorry, no coach fined for cheating should be allowed to win COY, no matter if he deserves it or not and if not for the cheating he would definitely be the front runner. See also: Shawn Merriman Rule.
