COD: Black Ops 3 (1 Viewer)

I'm looking through the Challenges and some of them seem unbelievably hard.

Wet Work: Get 10 kills without dying with no weapons or perks equipped.

Chain Killer: Get a chain of more than 8 rapid kills

Get a kill with every bolt in a crossbow clip

And some of the launchers challenges seem to be screwed up. I killed an AGR last night with the FHJ and didn't get credit for that challenge despite getting credit for killing an AGR under anothe challenge where you have to kill 10 AGRs. I also have kills with the RPG (and have it unlocked) but don't have the points from the RPG Qualified challenge where all you have to do is unlock it.
I have probably killed 20 AGRs total with the FHJ but I have only gotten credit for 1 on that challenge and this is what I came up with. I think  the reason is that the challenge is for player controlled things so if someone just drops the AGR and doesn't control it it won't count as part of that challenge.ETA: I assume we are talking about the same challenge...kill 10 player controlled items...it is my last one to unlock with the FHJ. I have also prestiged it twice.

One thing I really like is that leaderboards and the like make SPM, Captures, Defends, Comfirms, Denies, etc. much more prominent. k/d isn't nearly the same focus anymore and that is a very good thing.
SPM is what I look at when comparing player skill. I'm glad that has been implemented as it makes all players worry about things that help the team and not just kills.
I agree. Most of us could have a 5+ k/d if We wanted but our SPM would be low 200.
I disagree somewhat. I think its really important but it also says something about the average connection and game type that you play in. I've probably played 75% of my games with either a Primetime or Smoke/Cardfan party leader and there is just no way I can play balls out and be effective in that set-up. Also, anyone who plays groundwar often is gonna have a higher SPM than someone who never goes there.

Nope, there's a specific challenge for killing am AGR with the FHJ. Although now I see it does specify AI controlled. Still hard to believe since I actually killed 2 of them within about 10 seconds. Especially since I have 0/10 of player controlled Scorestreaks right about the AI AGR challenge.

connection sucks the last few days...today, I can not even log on. We got a probation warning last night because in 3 consecutive games the migrating host disconnected...sucks

League play will boost your SPM.

I think I have played 3 or 4 Ground War games and the lag was almost unbearable. I don't see how GW would help anyone's SPM. I know it should because there are more targets but it's not a stable gametype imo.

Are there any stable gametypes? Dealt with horrific lag last night. Hit a guy 3 times with my S-12 only to have him turn on me and kill me in one shot with his S-12. I am not the best player bit in the last 3 iterations of this game I have been able to maintain a K/D of around 1 and I typically don't sit in corners. But I started a game last night 0-10 and finished 5-22. Needless to say I was a little upset. I couldn't buy a kill last night.

85% of the time I don't have any problems playing. The only complaint I have is ill-advised probation for being kicked from host quits. And losses in League Play for the same reason, no matter if you are winning. We did have a few party issues last night, but all in all I can't complain. I don't notice the in game lag that bad as far as losing gun fights are concerned.

I have the same issue but Card Fan says he doesn't see a difference at all, so there is certainly a population out there that has no problem with the game type and those guys, if they decide to play GW often, will probably put up much higher SPM's (more targets + many of their opponents are lagging badly). That being said, SPM is still the best general proxy for skill.

There always seem to be challenges in the COD series where they can only be done if a friend on the other team agrees - makes them silly imo. Surgical from MW3 comes to mind.

I think I'm already to the point where I'm going to start playing just to #### around and have fun. Riot shield class, RPG class, etc.

I think tonight I'll go knife only just to piss people off.

Knife only

Lightweight

Scavenger + Fast Hands (+P2 greed)

Extreme Conditioning

Tactician

2x stun

2x concussion

:moneybag:

:dooshbag:

eta - depending on how much I end up stunning myself might need tac mask in there somehow

Would be so awesome if a whole team ran with that setup.I've also thought it would be hilarious if a team all equipped smoke nades and tossed them all over the map.

Any late night PS3 night owls that need a run-n-gunner can add me:

fun-with-acid

I'm on every night around midnight PST. I play hardcore kill confirmed mainly.

I'm running the S12 shotty w/ Fast Mag, Long Barrel, and Laser Sight attachment.

Ghost, Dexterity, and Extreme Conditioning perks.

Frag grenade.

So far it's straight cash homie.

Can't wait till Christmas when all the noobs come on, I'll be able to boost my K/D.

Last 2 nights the lag has made this unplayable to me. I know some of the people in my party were having problems last night also, so wasn't just my crappy DSL connection. I really wish they would put something in showing who the host is and what your connection speed to the host will be when the game starts. I know something like that isn't possible with migrating hosts and such, but damnit I really like this game when the connection isn't crappy. But as long as I and others keep buying it they have no incentive to fix it.

Reminds me of our Ghost Pro and Decoy grenade matches from the days of Black Ops.

I played the knife class for a few matches to start last night. I was in the .500 range every match, but was usually near the top of the team in points since I'd get so many confirms. I didn't have scavenger or tactician unlocked when I played though, so it wasn't at full effectiveness. Playing a knife only class really makes you play pretty strategically and plan out your route of attack, even more-so than a shotgun class.

I also had a couple 40+ shotgun games on Hijacked with the Remington.

Of course, as always, the night ends with a game in a lobby where I can't win any gun fights and my team having no desire to sniff the objective.

That kind of stuff is so much fun... messing around with weird tactics and generally just playing the game to enjoy yourself without worrying about K/D or anything like that. We should get a team together this week/weekend and do some stuff like that.

Stole your idea and used it last night. Had a couple of 30 kill knife games, was a ton of fun. I used 6 perks, Ghost/LW, Tac/marathon, Scav,Cold Blooded...Scav is wasted really because I only had a Tomahawk. I'll definitely keep this class as a change of pace, made for some great laughs.

I tried a class like that but with awareness & dead silence (I have a mid range turtle beach headset) . I thought I would have a nice advantage in hearing footsteps and enemies, but really there was just so much noise in KC that it was no advantage at all. Anyone else try something like that? Wondering if it was just me, or maybe that just isn't the right game for that class.

My theory was to load up with 2 flashbangs and 2 concussion grenades via tactician, with scavenger to refill them. Then you have fast hands to be able to throw them almost instantly. You just run around be a maniac throwing flashes/concussions everywhere... use them to check a room, in open areas in order to be able to close distance, etc. Always on the move/throwing stuns everywhere.I didn't get to really use it to full effectiveness last night since I didn't have flashes or tactician or scavenger unlocked when I started the night.

Black Ops 2 isn't the right game for that class.Seriously, awareness/dead silence are really only (barely) useful in something like 4v4 search and destroy, where you have limited people running around shooting/blowing stuff up/calling kill streaks.

I may try that too, but I loved the 6 perks, although the tier 2 perks aren't a necessity outside scav for what you are talking aboutHaving a scuf helped a lot too

Yep, story of my life. I haven't used a Sniper, LMG, SMG or AR in 2 Prestiges. I was having a ton of fun running around with the Crossbow.

Had one awesome moment last night.

Playing domination on slums. Started on C side/high side. Skipped capping C and ran straight to B, tossed a nade towards their middle opening. Killed 4 guys with one nade, and because I was capping B when I killed them I got a #### ton of points for the kills, and filled up all three kill streaks with one nade (UAV, lightning strike, sentry).

were you playing with your buddies last night? Almost joined the party. Next time. were y

Yeah, my buddy Rhettpup is on pretty much every time I turn on my xbox.

ALWAYS join the party.

At some point last night I noticed tickleninja was in our game, but he never joined the party.

Ran a little knife only today. Pretty fun. Ran with a frag grenade and 2 concussion nades. Finished most games at .500 as well. Might have done better if I had been a little sneakier.

Wonder when they're going to fix the SPM glitch/exploit? I have no idea how guys are doing it, but there are people clocking in SPMs of 10k-40k. That's obviously impossible. It's throwing off clan rankings as well. Seems like that should be easily bannable stuff and yet there are loads of them out there.

I think it's a league play issue

Looks like the clan challenges and ops officially start tomorrow. But everytime I try to register for one it tells me there's an error with the Elite servers.

It also looks like there have already been a few. It shows completed ops and challenges and some clans already have Clan XP. Nice of Activision/Treyarch to announce the official start of Clan challenges AFTER already having some.

Made a ton of mistakes. Thought I killed the guy on B. ran myself out of bullets and a gay sniper got me to end the streak.
