I prefer pizza that is left out, in the box, on top of the oven the next morning. I'm not a huge fan of cold pizza, but I'll eat it and like it.
After about 4 hours, food left out starts to grow bacteria like crazy. Enjoy your post-breakfast runny doodies.
I've never had an issue. And it's yummy as all ####.
Mythbusters should do an episode on this but I think pizza is salty/acidic enough to slow down bacteria growth for longer than 4 hours. I've never heard of someone getting sick from eating pizza 8 hours later.
You can eat it two DAYS later.
We regularly leave food out. If we make dinner, we typically don't put it in the fridge until the following evening. It usually gets eaten by then and just tastes better going from room temperature to hot again.

Never get sick from this. I don't think twice about it.

My fiance is always trying to put stuff in the fridge right after we're done eating and I hate that. I always say that I might go back for some more later that night. She doesn't understand that putting it in the fridge ruins the flavor of a lot of food.

You guys are so strange. Microwaved pizza can be a bit soggy but tastes about the same.
No and hell no.
What's so different? The cheese, sauce, and typical meats like sausage and pepperoni can handle the reheating without much change in flavor. I guess the vegetables can get overcooked and, as I mentioned, the crust gets soggy, but is that enough to change things from delicious to terrible?

Cold pizza? AWESOME

Cold fries? Nope.

However, cold potato logs? NOTHING BETTER IN THE UNIVERSE.

Seriously, it's the best hangover food I know. Sometimes if I'm drinking heavily I'll order up some potato logs solely to refrigerate immediately so I can wake up and have them ready. It's like a gift to my future self.
In what kind of ####ed up world are those not called wedges?

So much wrong here.

Cold pizza when canoeing or tubing down a river.

Cold fried chicken is also a great meal on the river..

Around these parts they are called Tater Wedges

I am glad that you and gianmarco have not yet died from leaving things out overnight, but there is a reason that you are supposed to lower the temperature on prepared food to <41 degrees in less than 4 hours.

Depending on the toppings the pizza is generally ok. Chicken, beef, and seafood toppings (not anchovies) will up the risk significantly. Any cured meat or vegetable is generally ok.

If I'm not patient enough to use the oven I will use the microwave only to make it room temp. Would never get it hot in the microwave. I'll eat it cold if I'm desperate.

There is a place. It's lame. New Haven is the place to get pizza in CT. It has Pepe's and Sally's and Modern. It's sort of internationally known and Zagat-rated.
I was just goofing, like I have been the whole thread.
Adding those to my "to try" list next time I'm up that way visiting my buddy in RI.

We had some awesome pizza on our way up to NH for Skiing at a random hole in the wall in Troy, NY called DiFazio's. So good. I love local pizza gems.
In all seriousness, go to Pepe's in New Haven if you get the chance. Not the franchisees within the state, though those are still good. Everybody says to get a white clam pie, but get whatever. It'll be really good. Fresh mozz.

White clam pie from there is easily top 3 pizzas I've ever had. Amazing.

anyone else notice that pizza cut in triangle slices tastes wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than pizza cut into squares, when left over?

we had a drunk discussion bout this a few years back, and everyone seemed to agree

I've had many many crazy Friday nights with pizza left on the counter, awaiting breakfast the next day. Pizza is fine if left out for 10 hours... More so the cheap hot and ready crap.To answer the op, cold pizza is great as lunch the next day. You get something different but still great.

Oh and cold fries are terrible. I mean, fries are usually bad after 20 minutes.

Microwaves make pizza too chewy or rubbery. Not a trait you look for in pizza.

Fresh from the fridge, best drunk food ever. I sometimes will go to McDonalds and get a large fry and a sweet tea, just to put the fries in the fridge for later.

Never heard of anyone else liking this, looking for my soul mate. :)

Hot/fresh >>> room temperature >>> oven reheat >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> cold >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> microwave reheat
